Down syndrome awareness is celebrated on March 21 because in order to have down syndrome you have to have three of the 21st chromosomes therefore 3/21 is the day of celebration and awareness.

To God Be the Glory. Giving all praise to God. Candy’s Kids Learning Academy, LLC is celebrating 14 years educating children!!!!!!! January 24, 2011 Candy’s Kids Learning Academy, LLC was established in the comfort of my home in North Philadelphia and expanded to a commercial building in 2014.

In 14 years God has allowed us to become a high-quality multi-site organization. Participating in the Keystone Stars program. Our family child care is a Star 4 and as of December 18,2023 became Nationally Accredited (NAFCC). We are not only recognized in Philadelphia Pa, but across the country in including Putero Rico and Hawaii. Our center is a Star 4 keystone Stars facility. These achievements allowed us to provide high-quality care for our children and provide free or low cost tuition for our employees.

In 14 years , God has allowed us to educate and care for over 330 children. All who were ready for Kindergarten. Many were on 1st and 2nd Grade academic levels.

For the last 7 years, we have partnered with the City of Philadelphia’s PHLprek program where we provide free Pre-k for 3-4 year olds at both sites.
In 2021, we have expanded to receive Federal funding for Early Head State program providing free childcare for 10 hours for infants to 2 year old.
We also partnered with PreK Counts in 2021. A state funded program that provides free childcare for 3-4 year olds

We are so blessed to have Federal, State, and City funding to help educate our youngsters Philadelphians from 6 weeks old to 5 years. As stated before, all programs are FREE of charge for the parents.

In 14 years, God has allowed us to employ over 50 employees. We have sponsored many employees to receive free or 100%of their tuition paid with our partnership with T. E.A.C.H.
T.E.A.C.H. Pays 95% of the employees tuition because we are an high- quality child care center. Candy's Kids Learning Academy,LLC invests in the other 5% in the employees education.

Many of the employees have earned their Chid Development Associates (CDA) free of charge including the cost of the examination.
Many have earned and is currently enrolled in an Associate Degree in Early Chilldhood Education from Community College of Philadelphia and Eastern Universities respectively.
Many have earned their Masters Degree in education and Directors Credentials from Eastern University and Chestnut Hill College.
One educator has earned three teaching certificates in Early Childhood Education, Special Education and Elementary Education from Eastern University
One educator has completed 6 graduate credits from Drexel University.
One educator is currently finishing up her Level Il Pennsylvania Teacher Certification which will allow the teacher to become Certified Teacher for Lifetime. All these teaching initiatives are sponsored by Candy’s Kids Learning Academy, LLC

In 14 years, the Lord has allowed our organization to be an co-operating teacher for teachers who are completing their student- teaching to become a certified teacher. We have certified three teachers. Our first student teacher completed her student-teaching duties in the spring of 2018 from Eastern University. She became a certified teacher in May 2018. Our second student-teacher completed her student teaching duties the fall of 2019 from Chestnut Hill College. She became a certified teacher in December 2019. Our third we student teacher completed her student-teacher duties May 2021. Currently we have one educator finishing up the Level Il Pennsylvania Teacher Certification which will allow the teacher to become Certified Teacher for Lifetime.

In 1 4 year , God has allowed us to be a blessing to our communities. We give fruit basket and cans of cookies for Christmas to our seniors on the 2200 block of Woodstock street.
We give book bags and supplies to the children on Woodstock street and Tioga and Emerald street. We also give to Temple Hospital children art supplies during Christmas for those who are in the hospital during Christmas.
In January 2021, we launch our Candy’s Kids C. A. R. E.S. (Care About Reading Every Student)
Mission to give every child the power to imagine by providing their own library of books
Vision Give a book to Inspire a child to brighten the future

Last year we started Candy's Kids CARES( Caring About Reaching Every Soul) food drive. We placed food out each facility with canned goods and non perishable food items for anyone passing by who needs them in our North Philadelphia and Kensington locations.

Thank you God for being a promise keeper and allowing us to stay a float during a pandemic and beyond. You provide like no other allowing me to pay my employees throughout the pandemic when we were shutdown. There is No one like you.!!!!!! Thank you for making all my dreams come true especially when the Family Childcare became National Accredited. . When I open my doors to the community, I stated that this will be National Accredited. It happened 12 years later... Only God can make things happen!!!!

Thanking God for showing me that this is not only a childcare business but also a ministry. Where we pray for our staff, parents, and children every day at 9 am with our children and staff.
