NASPA - Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education Excellence Award Spotlight! Congratulations to Marc Lo and the University of Pennsylvania , winner of the First-generation Student Success and related GOLD level award for their Research & Internship Bootcamp, a workshop that would carve out space specifically for early career first-generation undergraduates to learn more about the various research and career pathways they could pursue at Penn. The program also won the Grand Bronze Excellence Award for their work.

The First-generation Student Success and related award seeks to highlight innovative initiatives that relate to the programs, policies, procedures, best practices, or services supporting first-generation undergraduate or graduate students.

A 2021 Rhodes Scholar for Penn | Penn Today May graduate Mackenzie Fierceton from St. Louis been awarded the prestigious Rhodes Scholarship for graduate study at the University of Oxford in England. She earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and is currently completing her master’s degree in clinical social work.
