AlGen Holding Company: Preschool Assistant Teacher
The AlGen Holding Company d/b/a AWB Children’s Center (“AWB”); Franklin Day Nursery (“FDNS”); Franklin Day Nursery Northeast (“FDNNE”); and The Harvard Children’s Academy (“HCA”) is seeking a Preschool Assistant Teacher to join our team who is passionate, motivated, creative, organized, excellent communicator, intentional, and resourceful. Assistant Teacher will foster a culture of continuous learning and growth in and outside of the classroom. The Assistant Teacher is a model for the strong ideals of the program and communicates those ideas effectively with their co-teachers, students, families, and Center Director.
Responsibilities:
• Implementing Teaching Strategies Creative Curriculum and GOLDPlus aligned with PA Early Learning Standards, Federal Head Start, Keystone STARS, NAEYC Accreditation Performance Standards, and guidelines of Office of Child Development Early Learning (OCDEL) and Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP);
• Professional Development completed annually in a timely manner;
• Models Active Supervision while promoting an open and non-judgmental learning environment;
• Follow guidelines of CDC, OCDEL, Keystone STARS, NAEYC, Federal Head Start, and CACFP;
• Collaborate with Lead Teacher in planning and facilitating an open and non-judgmental daily learning program and post plans as needed for the classroom;
• Collect and Maintain Individual Educational Portfolios for each assigned student;
• Perform daily attendance of assigned students aligned with OCDEL, Federal Head Start, and CACFP guidelines;
• Complete all required reports aligned with OCDEL guidelines;
• Able to clearly define conflict resolution plans in the classroom;
• Greets parents, children, and visitors, modeling kindness, inclusivity, and expertise; and
• Represents AlGen in the community with integrity, enthusiasm, and professionalism.
Required Qualifications:
• Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education; or
• Preschool Child Development Associates Certificate (CDA) and High School Diploma;
• Minimum of two (2) years experience as a Preschool Assistant Teacher of an Early Childhood program;
• Familiarity with Federal Head Start, Keystone STARS-3 or higher, and NAEYC Accreditation;
• Pass - Criminal, FBI, Child Abuse, and National S*x Offender Registry Clearances; and
• Currently certified in First Aid and CPR.
Compensation and Benefits:
This is a full-time position to begin August 23, 2021, with a competitive salary and benefits package.
