Upright - or sidelying! - can help prevent tearing, supports long term pelvic floor health, may make labor more efficient, can improve oxygenation of the baby, and more! 🌟
But remember - it’s not ONLY about being upright; it’s VERY MUCH about changing position often 💁🏼♀️
What could clue us in to an asynclitic fetal position? 🧐
🔵 hip discomfort
🔵 mid pelvis stall
🔵 possibly determined through an internal exam
🔵 funky contraction pattern
By no means is this a comprehensive list but some common characteristics of a baby asynclitic and/or having a challenging time with descent and/or rotation 👍🏼
