This weekend I had the HONOR of sharing the voice of Black girl, Amaris .risss at Philadelphia Writing Project’s Celebration of Writing and Literacy!

She was a co-researcher this summer with the BGLP’s online inquiry group. She is a senior at Lincoln University majoring in Education.

I sat down with Amaris last week and conversed with her about her reflections on our work together this summer around self-love practices, and she had a message for educators working with Black girls... did you get it? 🙂🤓

I can’t wait to hear what comes up for girls after our first in person gatherings!

Don’t forget, our next session, Monday October 24th at 4pm. Same place (downstairs this time).

She loves poetry and is sooo smart and bubbly. She attends a school I use to teach at. She has more in common than she knows. I cannot wait to continue to generate new knowledge with her about self-love.
