From a job yesterday. These are the basement steps. Only 2 hinges holding these to the wall. The bottom and top end just rest where they fall. Basement floor was all tile, and chopped up into different rooms, with locked doors, making egress extremely difficult. Imagine a RIT in this basement. How much weight do you think these steps can hold? Get out and LOOK at the hazards where you will be working. Stay safe.

Some pics sent to us by a friend here in the PFD. Some new construction problems. Please take a look at all the pics. House fires in these types of dwellings are not super common. So, you need to have a plan for when you do have a job in one of these. How are you laddering the roof? What side? What is in the way? Are you on the lowest level, or not? Heavy smoke in the middle of the night… extra fall hazards. And if you do fall, will anyone even know??? Get out and find the weird stuff in your local. Start a table top discussion while you are all hanging out. It’s still training, and it will only help you.
