When you go into childcare, no one tells you about the heartache that comes with it. ❤️
No one prepares you for the message that says, “We just can’t make it work anymore.” You don’t expect the worry that comes with no longer seeing a baby you’ve cared for every day. You don’t realize how much of your heart a child can take with them when they leave.
You worry about them. You wonder how they’re doing. You wonder if they’re being cared for well while Mom and Dad are at work. You miss their little voices, their hugs, their smiles, and even the things that used to drive you a little crazy. 🥹
Because the truth is, we see SO many kiddos come through these doors. Some are easy from day one. Some are a little harder. Some test every ounce of patience we have. There are days when they can’t keep their hands or feet to themselves, want to bite everyone, put every toy in their mouth, or simply struggle to get through the day.
But then…you make that connection. ❤️
You learn what makes them laugh. You learn what comforts them. You figure out how to reach them. You watch them grow, learn, and become more independent. And somewhere along the way, that child becomes your baby, too.
So if you have a child who has ever been in our care, even if they have moved on, gone to school, or haven’t walked through our doors in a long time, please know this:
They have been loved. They are still loved. And they will always hold a little piece of our hearts. ❤️
Even during the hard moments. Even when they were challenging. Even when we had to redirect them for the hundredth time that day.
They were never “just another child.”
They were our baby. And we loved them beyond measure. 🥹❤️
That’s the part of childcare no one tells you about, the children may eventually leave our classrooms, but they never really leave our hearts. 🫶
