♟️Congratulations to BASIS Cedar Park student Annika M. for representing the United States, Texas, and BASIS Cedar Park at the 2026 Pan-American Youth Chess Festival in Medellín, Colombia! 🇨🇴

Competing in the U8 Girls category in her first international chess tournament, Annika earned an individual medal in all three championship formats!

🥇 Gold Medal – U8 Rapid Chess
1st Place with a perfect 9/9
🥉 Bronze Medal – U8 Classical Chess
3rd Place with 7.5/9 tied for 2nd place on points
🥉 Bronze Medal – U8 Blitz Chess
3rd Place with 7/9 tied for 2nd place on points

Annika was the only U8 female player at the championship to earn an individual medal in all three formats — Classical, Rapid, and Blitz.

During the championship, Annika earned the prestigious FIDE Women’s Candidate Master (WCM) title, an internationally recognized chess title.

Welcome to 265 Raider Way! ⚡A new chapter for BASIS Texas Charter Schools has officially begun in Leander and we are so excited to welcome our students, teachers, and families to campus for their first day of school.

Thank you to everyone who celebrated with us at the grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony of BASIS Leander and BASIS Leander Primary.

♟️Congratulations to BASIS Cedar Park student, Advik M., for representing the United States, Texas, and BASIS Cedar Park at the 2026 Pan American Youth Chess Championship in El Salvador this summer!

Competing against some of the strongest young chess players from across the Americas, Advik delivered an outstanding performance while competing above his age group.

🥈 Silver Medal – U11 Rapid Chess
🥈 Silver Medal – U11 Blitz Chess
⭐ Tied for 4th Place – U13 Classical Chess

These remarkable results reflect Advik’s dedication, resilience, and determination to compete at the highest levels of the game. As a FIDE Candidate Master (CM), he continues to represent BASIS Cedar Park and Texas at tournaments across the country and around the world.

🐲The Dragons are reigning from the top of U.S. News and World Report 2026-27 Best High Schools rankings. BASIS San Antonio Shavano is the #1 San Antonio Metro Area High School!

In addition to their #1 spot, BASIS San Antonio Shavano also claimed the #13 U.S. Charter School and #21 STEM High School rankings.
