Firefly Community School

Last Friday, we had our annual Firefly Art Fest, and it was an awesome evening! We invited our families to enjoy light refreshments and showcased the beautiful artwork that our fireflies diligently created throughout May. 🖼️💛

It’s always so fun watching the creative process unfold! Over the course of a few days, this group of worked through the steps to make these fierce leopards using just markers and paint! 🐆🖌️

Inspired by the Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, these used our dot paint markers to create some fun and festive polka dot art entitled, “Infinity Dot”. 🖼️

As we are entering the final stretch of our art learning block, this group of used their abstract art skills to create pieces inspired by zebras!🦓

This afternoon we honored our graduates with a special ceremony to celebrate their time at Firefly as they will soon be heading off to Kindergarten in the fall. 🥹 We are so proud of them and excited to see all of the amazing things they will do in their lives!! 🎓

These were inspired by the remarkable story of Judith Scott, a talented artist with Down syndrome who overcame numerous challenges in her life and produced beautiful art. 🖼️

This week, the creative juices are flowing as the prepare for our upcoming art festival at the end of the month. These fireflies have taken a unique approach to customizing their pieces by using pastas and noodles. 🐟🐠

Inspired by the story of The Hungry Caterpillar,our glowworm friends joined in on the art fun and created their own custom caterpillars with paint this week! 🖌️🐛🎨

As our art learning block continues, our are collaborating on a piece that utilizes various mediums to create a cohesive image when put together. We’re curious to know, what you think the final product will look like. 🤔🎨
