We are looking for a part-time teacher assistant to join our Inside Outside School team. We are a small micro-school community with a place-based and nature-based focus. Previous experience working with children in schools or other group settings is helpful. A love of children and belief in the innate human greatness in children and adults is a must!
Due to Covid protocols, we will be teaching in an outdoor environment until our student body has an opportunity to receive the Covid-19 vaccine. Masking is required for indoor activities and some outdoor activities if community spread shows a need.
Hours are 7:30-1pm Monday-Thursday and 7:30-2pm Fridays with a possibility of increased hours through the school year. Duties will include driving the morning school bus route, assisting the primary classroom teacher, and snack and lunch monitoring. Classroom duties include assisting in whole-group activities, running student centers while the classroom teacher teaches in small groups, reinforcing classroom management and class procedures, facilitating student handwashing and cleanup, assisting with setting up classroom activities and preparing materials, ability to take anecdotal notes on students as needed, and other duties as assigned.
