Not sure about whether to make a birth plan?

While the plan can't be set in stone, it is always helpful to do research and educate yourself on things you would prefer during labor and postpartum.

This is something you can talk to your healthcare provider about prior to labor.

If you decide to make a printable plan to take with you to the hospital, keep it short and simple, to one page. Highlight the main details and discuss with the nurses and doctors of any other important things you would prefer.

Have any more questions? Let me know!

Craving that cup of coffee, but just not sure whether you should or not?

There has been a lot of contradicting research on whether you should drink coffee while pregnant. If you ask your grandmother, she would definitely say no!

But modern research has found that you can drink coffee, as long as you consume under 200mg of caffeine a day. (So if you also drink tea or eat a lot of chocolate, just be careful).

Or, go for those decaf beverages that still taste good!

How is that for an afternoon pick-me-up?πŸ˜‰β˜•οΈ

April showers bring May flowers? πŸ’¦ We are praying so! We got hit with a snowpocalypse in February, which killed some of our trees and plants, and just had a hailstorm the other day damaging our roof, cars, and plants again! 😱 What other weather will 2021 bring us?

Speaking of, are you pregnant and been feeling a little under the weather lately? πŸ€’ Maybe struggling with nausea or tiredness? Here are a few tips that can help lift your spirits and keep your lunch down:

β€’ Go for walks! πŸšΆπŸΌβ€β™€οΈOr if you regularly exercise, keep it up! Exercise can help you sleep better at night combating insomnia, and help you feel more energized.😁

β€’ Drink peppermint tea!β˜• Feeling nauseous, but tired of gingerale and crackers? Peppermint tea is safe during pregnancy in small quantities, and can be a nice alternative for nausea.

β€’ Take small naps! Sometimes long naps can leave you still feeling groggy, try shorter, 20-30 minute naps to refresh you!😴

β€’ Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! πŸ’¦ Drinking plenty of water can also combat nausea. Can't stand water? Try electrolyte tablets which can also give you a body if you keep losing your lunch, or try sipping water slowly instead of chugging away. It gives more time for slower digestion, hopefully keeping it down! 🀒

I hope these were helpful! Still have questions? Feel free to DM me!😊

Wow, it's been a while since I've been around here! I had my daughter in February, so it will still be a while before I can resume classes!πŸ’•

However, I'm hoping to post some fun facts and tips every once in a while, so stay tuned! Here's the first one:

Did you know that about only 10% of labors start with your water breaking? That's right, not everything you see in the movies is true! 😱

In fact, most of the time you're water breaks during the transition stage of labor, (7-10 cm dilated) or right before you deliver your little one!

Are you wondering what other signs of labor are, if it isn't always starting with your water breaking? Start tuned or shoot me a DM to find out! I'll be happy to answer any questions! πŸ˜πŸ–οΈ
