**Guten Morgen, KiGa families!**
I have been thinking again and wanted to ask for your honest opinion about an idea I have been considering.
This year, I have been asked by many Mommies if they could stay at our preschool to watch what I am doing and see how their child is doing in class. Unfortunately, I have had to tell them that I am not allowed, due to State licensing rules, to have one family member stay in the classroom on a daily basis. That person would have to meet all State licensing requirements to work in a licensed preschool or daycare. This includes background checks, fingerprinting, and certain yearly trainings.
I completely understand that some Mommies are having a hard time letting go of their children. With the world being the way it is today, I understand wanting to stay close and make sure your child is safe, happy, and doing well. And of course, Mr. Brad and I are still strangers to many of you, so building that trust takes time.
That is what led me to our Mommy & Me program for children ages 2 to 3, and I have received a lot of positive interest from families who would like to participate.
But then I started thinking about our older children and families. There are still children who are 3 to 4 years old whose Mommies or family members may not be quite ready to let go yet.
**So here is my question:**
Would there be an interest in a **Mommy & Me Preschool Schedule for children ages 3 to 4?**
The idea would be a little bit like a preschool and homeschooling combination, where a family member could stay with their child and participate alongside the teacher.
Here is what I am thinking:
**2 days per week**
**2 hours per day**
**$250 per month**
**Children ages 3 to 4**
A Mommy, Daddy, grandparent, or other family member would stay with the child and help guide them through the preschool experience alongside the teacher. There would be one major requirement for the parent/guardian, the use of cell phones or electronics would not be allowed with the exception of taking photographs.
The goal would be to give children a fun, social preschool environment while allowing them to have their trusted family member right there with them.
It would be a place where children could play, explore, create, learn, make friends, practice independence, and build confidence, all while having the comfort of someone they trust close by.
Instead of asking a child to suddenly go from being home with Mom or Dad to spending several hours away from their family, this could provide a gentle bridge between home and preschool.
And maybe that is exactly what some children and families need.
Then, when your child turns 4 and you feel that you are both ready for the next step, they could either join Little KiGa Farm Preschool, if we still have an opening, or continue on to the school of your choice.
**Please note:** This would **not be a UPK substitute** and would not be offered as a UPK placement.
And just to be clear, this would not happen this school year since my classes are already full. This is simply an idea I am exploring for the future.
So now I would really love to hear from you!
**Would you be interested in something like this? Would you use it for your child? What would you like to see included?**
Please give me your honest opinion, good, bad, or somewhere in between!
I really want to know if this is something that would be valuable to our families. Your feedback could help us create something special that gives children the opportunity to experience real play, real friendships, real world learning, and growing independence, while still giving parents the peace of mind of being right there.
**Dankeschön!**
