Hello Seniors and Senior Families!
We would like to thank you for your continued patience as we have had to navigate through the many parameters put forth by the CDC and El Paso County Health Department. Here is an update for our Class of 2020 Graduation Ceremony. Below you will find our most recent update given by CDC, El Paso County Health Department, and District 49.
UPDATES:
For our ceremony, students will be allowed 6 ticketed attendees to share in person the celebration of this momentous occasion. Tickets will be picked up with the other needed items on the 24th. Remaining family members will be able to view our ceremony via a Live-Stream put out by the district. This live-stream will also be made into a downloadable recording and readily available for everyone in the days following our event.
Mask Requirements: Masks will be required within the following parameters.
Student participants will be required to wear masks upon arrival, through check-in, and during the es**rt to their assigned seat.
Once the student is SEATED, they will be able to remove their mask.
However, any movement before the ceremony will require the mask to be put back on.
During the ceremony, as students approach and cross the stage, the mask will not be required so pictures may be taken and their face can be seen for the live-stream video of our ceremony.
Attending audience participants will be required to wear masks upon arrival, through the concourse, and to their chosen seats.
Once the audience participants are SEATED within their family groupings, masks can be removed.
However, any type of movement before, during, or after the ceremony, masks will need to be put back on.
Once the ceremony has ended, both students and families must exit the stadium as well as the entirety of the UC Health Park property immediately. Any type of socializing such as celebratory pictures among peers./families cannot be taken after the ceremony. This will be enforced by both Vibes personnel and FHS Staff. If pictures would like to be taken, there is a community park named Sandstone Park at Barnes and Pring Ranch Rd (about ½ mile east from the stadium).
REMINDERS:
Here are some planning and preparatory measures that we would like to remind you of at this time.
Caps will be allowed to be decorated as in previous years. However, there are strict rules that will be followed. Caps will be checked upon arrival to graduation. If a cap is deemed inappropriate or outside the guidelines and cannot be edited quickly for the ceremony, the student will be given a blank cap for the ceremony. The rules for cap decor are below:
Any words and images put on your cap must be school appropriate.
NO profanity or vulgar language, no crude images, and absolutely no drug/alcohol/weapon/gang-related paraphernalia.
Items added on your cap cannot protrude any higher than an inch from the top of your cap and nothing can hang down from the edges of your cap.
Per the UC Health Park and Vibes personnel, high heels will NOT be allowed. It has been requested that flats or wedges be worn in lieu of any style with a thin heel. Our event will be held on their grass/dirt field and they do not want any type of style that may sink into the ground as both are a possible hazard to students as well as damaging to their field. Please plan and dress accordingly.
Correct and Recommended Attire: ‘Sunday Best’ or ‘Business Casual’ would be preferred as this is a formal ceremony and outfits will be dress code appropriate. Again, NO high heels.
Wednesday, June 24th- From 1-4 p.m. at the Security Window found at the front of FHS (to the right of the main doors), students will need to pick up the necessary items for graduation.
Students will be given a packet of the following needed documents:
2020 Graduation Participation Form: It is mandatory that students and parents fill out and sign the 2020 Graduation Participation form. This participation form holds all the health guidelines and requirements for the ceremony. It also holds a medical survey that will need to be completed in the days leading up to the ceremony.
6 Admission Tickets for those who will be attending in person.
Keepsake programs for family members: We are not allowed and/or able to hand out any type of item(s) at graduation. Each student will be given 5 programs in total. Four will be picked up on the 24th, so families may have them ahead of time, and one will be awaiting the student at the ceremony.
Graduation Information Sheet: This handout will consist of all details necessary for graduation such as parking, overall attendance, check-in procedures for students, and a timeline for our event.
Saturday, June 27th- Graduation. Details can be found on the Graduation Information Sheet.
Monday, June 29th- From 1-4 p.m. at the Security Window found at the front of the school (to the right of the main doors), students can pick up their diplomas and official transcripts.
