I don't write here as often as I should. The Bagpipe Museum keeps me very busy and I doubt that I'll ever catch up!

I am posting the following email sent out to members of Celtic Nations Pipe Band in Milwaukee. We are growing... together. We currently have 32 pipers with a goal to add 18 more in the coming months. It is a challenge to give each piper help that is specific to their individual needs. Ringo

USDA-APHIS has advised us that the requirement to file an import declaration (Form PPQ505) for bagpipes and bagpipe parts and accessories will take effect July 1. Bagpipes entering the US on or after that date must be accompanied by an appropriately-completed declaration form.

A friend recently tipped me off to a bagpipe on Ebay Australia. I contacted the seller to express my interest. He responded by making a gift of the bagpipe to me. I paid the shipping.

The bagpipe arrived in good time and I couldn't wait to dive into the project. I stripped and oiled the bagpipe. Interesting that the blackening agent was purple! I'll have Rick at Dunbar Bagpipes install matching rings, which were replaced with Jacaranda wood by a previous owner. I'll do a full write-up in The Bagpipe Museum soon however I thought I'd get these pictures out this morning.

I've learned that William (Bill) Steele purchased the business from Martin ca 1970. He closed the business a short time later and disposed of all of Martin's tools. I'm seeking more information, so if anybody out there can help, please email or PM me. Ringo
