Ms. Jernigan's Kindergarten Class has been studying spiders and today, they had a very special guest visitor... Ms. Jernigan's son!
He brought two spiders for students to learn about and look at in their enclosures. They loved watching the large spider building his web and the small spider jumping! 🕷️♥️

Friday was such an exciting day in 1st Grade! Through Washington University in St. Louis MySci, they became experts in the process of Biomimicry! 🐦

Students learned all about how different types of birds use their beaks to get food. To do this, they traveled to all six 1st Grade classrooms where they got hands-on experience with tools to practice these bird processes. They used fish nets, tweezers, pliers, scissors, water droppers, and tongs to mimic how different birds use their beaks.

If you have a 1st Grader at home, please ask them about which bird was their favorite! Thank you to our amazing 1st grade teachers who not only looked the part of bird experts, but also planned this fun learning experience for our students to remember forever! ♥️🦜 Dunklin R5 School District
