Kindergarten Parents: Starting this year, KG students will meet their teachers in the cafeteria each morning before going to class! This helps take some worry away on the first days about being able to find classrooms 🙂 they will eat breakfast in the cafeteria before the class moves together to their rooms.

Breakfast is free for all K-5 students! 1st-5th graders eat breakfast in their classrooms when they arrive each morning. We have an amazing Blackcat Cafe that serves the best breakfast and lunch options daily! 🍽️🥞🍔

We enjoyed seeing everyone last night at Open House! We are so excited for the 1st Day of School tomorrow!
🐾 Please review our newsletter with all of the information about drop off, pick up, etc. before the 1st day.

Hello! I’m Makayla Adams, and this is my first year as an art teacher. I am super excited to create artwork with the students at Pevely Elementary this year. I grew up in Oakville and graduated from Webster University. In my free time, I enjoy painting and trying new local coffee shops.

Hi- my name is Kelly Cook, and I am so excited to be a part of Pevely Elementary! I have been a school counselor for 3 years now and have loved stepping into this role. Before becoming a school counselor, I was a school-based therapist. I grew up in Oakville and have lived in Pittsburgh, PA, for the past 7 years. I just moved back to STL and am looking forward to joining the Pevely team!

Hello! My name is Elisabeth Bearden, and this will be my first year teaching fifth grade at Pevely Elementary. I grew up in Imperial and graduated from Seckman High School before earning my bachelor’s degree from Mizzou (MIZ!). Last school year, I had the amazing opportunity to teach abroad in Bulgaria. I am so excited to be back home and serving my community. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy reading and traveling. At home, I have two cats, Luna and Aldi!

Hi, my name is Alyssa Appleton! I am so excited to be joining the Pevely Elementary team as a 5th grade teacher. This will be my second year at Pevely Elementary, as I completed my student teaching here and have also had the opportunity to serve as a long-term substitute. While this is my first official year as a classroom teacher, I am so grateful to be returning to a school and community that already feels like home. Outside of school, I love reading, spending time with my family and friends, and traveling to new places. I cannot wait to meet my new students, build meaningful relationships, and make lots of memories together!

Hello, my name is Hannah Buechel. This is my first year teaching special education 3rd-5th life skills. I’m excited to start my career at Pevely Elementary, where all my children go to school. I grew up in Barnhart, attended Seckman High School, and am continuing my education at Missouri Baptist University. My hobbies are reading, watching my son play hockey, and baking. I have 3 sons ( Trenton, Larry, and Leroy), 1 golden retriever (Clover), and a cat (Snowflake).

Hi! My name is Alli McCarty. I am so excited to be a part of Pevely Elementary's Kindergarten team this year. This will be my second year with the district and my first year in my own classroom! I graduated with my Bachelor's from Missouri Baptist and am currently continuing my Master's with them. Outside of the classroom, I am a mom to two little boys. I enjoy traveling and spending time making memories with my family!

Hi! My name is Shannon Cary, and this will be my first year teaching second grade at Pevely Elementary. I am so excited to build a classroom family and grow and learn with my students. I am a mom of three adult children and a Mimi to two girls. I have two more grandbabies on the way, due in January and February. I love to bake, swim, fish, and spend time with my family!
