Some of our St. Michael juniors and seniors recently traveled to Illinois for a special visit to San Damiano College for the Trades!

What an incredible experience for our students - joining the San Damiano community for daily Mass, Eucharistic Adoration and the opportunity for Confession, praying nighttime Compline alongside the trade school students, and, of course, sharing plenty of fun along the way.

We are grateful for the warm welcome and we’re already looking forward to our next visit!

What a phenomenal evening at the C.S. Lewis Festival at the Great Lakes Center for the Arts in Bay Harbor!

We are so proud of our St. Michael students who performed beautifully alongside so many talented students and artists. The St. Francis Xavier Petoskey students were incredible as well, sharing wonderful excerpts from The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe - including a fantastic performance by the daughter of our own Mr. Schomp! Congrats to senior Hazel Bowman for winning 2026 Youth Artist!

It was a wonderful celebration of C.S. Lewis, the arts, and the incredible talent of our local students. Bravo to all who performed! 👏

Our school celebrated our patron’s feast day in true St. Michael fashion! We began with Holy Mass, followed by House initiations and a potluck before spending the afternoon putting our classical education into action with some interesting debates.

And somewhere along the way… we may have had an impromptu stand-up comedy session!

A special thank you to the St. Mary School 7th & 8th graders who joined us, and to all the visitors and families who helped make the day a success!

At SMHS, students study Astronomy, exploring the stars, planets, and the remarkable order of the universe all while growing in wonder for the beauty of God’s creation.

A special hat tip to Mr. Schomp!
