We had a great showing at our first Petoskey Middle School Junior Anglers meeting today. We had twenty anglers attend and a few more check in. Thank you to Brady and Elijah Ingalls for coming out to help facilitate the meeting. Elijah helped show how to measure fish and Brady helped with the fishing questionnaire. It was great to have many middle school anglers that are related to high school anglers come out to continue the family tradition. Thank you to Mr. Brey for letting us use his room. Our next meeting will be November 9th.

We had a great time fishing our 5th annual Fall Frenzy kayak tournament. It has been held on Crooked Lake 4 of 5 times. We returned to the locks in Alanson where our very first trip was held in 2022. Thank you to the 11 Northmen Anglers that came out. We had 5 new anglers that had never attended an event before with 3 of them being freshman. We have a great crew and a bright future ahead!

Our club got to participate in the Petoskey High School homecoming parade and had the privilege to hand out candy to future Northmen Anglers. Thank you to Elijah Ingalls, Ryder, Mason, Carson, and River for representing the club. A special thank you to Clint and Lee Ingalls for providing the boat/candy/photos and Andrea Hudson for additional photos. Make sure to join us on Friday for the homecoming parade at 4:30 pm on the high school campus. We hope to see Junior Anglers from Petoskey Middle School in the crowd. We will have fishing inspired candy and Northmen Anglers stickers to handout because of the kind contributions of Lee Ingalls.

Congratulations to Elijah Ingalls on his 4th place finish out of 24 anglers on Fletcher's Pond as a part of Topwater Nation Trail Series. He finished just .25 inches out of 3rd place. He grinded all the way to the end by posting his biggest fish about 10 minutes before lines out. Great job! He has had a great season and has adapted to different bodies of water throughout the state.

The club had the opportunity to compete in the Topwater Series Northern Championship on the Grand Traverse Bay. Brooke, Ryder, Elijah Ingalls, and Mr. Hudson qualified through the Topwater League Series: Ga***rd Division - Kayak Bass Fishing Ga***rd Area. Mr. Hudson was able to take 3rd place with two fish. Even though fishing was tough, we had a great day on a beautiful body of water! We look forward to next year and growing our kayak team. Thank you to Norm Fenton for putting together this event and John Callison of Callison Fishing for representing our club by wearing our hat to a 2nd place finish.

Thank you to all of the anglers that came out to our first meetings of the year. Everyone took home soft plastics from Hooked Up Fishing and jigs from Kamikaze Fishing Jigs. We have a great year ahead of us!

Congratulations to Elijah Ingalls for winning all three categories in the summer online tournaments! He received plaques made by PHS Pop Up Shop and three gift cards to Jay's Sporting Goods.

Congratulations to Mason Brey for winning the club's Bassmaster fantasy fishing game. He received a certificate and gift card to the BASS store.

Over the weekend, anglers hit the water and recorded many catches! Congratulations on the great catches! Alex and James are representing the club in this year's Michigan High School Steelhead Tournament. Thank you Jeremy Winsor and all of the wonderful sponsors for putting on this wonderful event.

We had the opportunity to attend the sturgeon release in Wolverine put on by the Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council and The Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians (LTBB). Thank you to Brooke & her dad and River & Andrea Hudson for representing the club! This was a great event put on by these organizations to learn about sturgeon and their cultural impact on northern Michigan.
