Third Grade day for pick up of gym shoes and other materials left in class rooms is Wednesday, May 21. You may choose either 9-11 or 4-6. You will come to the backdoor via the carpool lane. The public will not be allowed in the building.

Please continue to follow the guidelines below. If you have questions, want to talk or there is anything I can do to assist you please message me or call 3049206422. The schools will be giving back personal items and parents will be returning text books on May 21st for third grade. There will be a schedule of alphabetical time. The closure of school in WV does not mean we are to stop being engaged in education. Young kids need to understand there is a time each day to be focused on learning. Maintaining skills and reinforcing skills kids all ready have in their academic mindset is the best that any teacher will hope for in these unprecedented times . Practice basic skills in math and reading and everything else will fall in place as we begin again next year! But please please please practice the skills they have now. I will continue to post helpful information to help you help your child. Daily work should still be done and includes:
1. Read stories from your reading book or other reading material. Use the workbook pages for language arts skills and spelling.
2. Practice any math in the math workbook. PLEASE if you don't do anything else, get accurate and quick with multiplication and division facts memorized. Review and stay quick with addition and subtraction facts. Practice problems that help you stay sharp on how to regroup in addition and subtraction. Tell time on a regular clock. Be able to tell how much time has passed. Count money and do problems that add and subtract money.
3. IReady and AR are both available at home. Prodigy, Splash Math, Multiplcation.com, Spelling City are great resources.

5. Post pictures of what you are doing. Learning is also things like cooking, building and gardening. I would love to see what you are doing!

Folks...The IReady diagnostics are now available. They should come up the next time your child logs on to IREAdy. Please let me know if you run into any problems. Your child should work these problems on their own, with no support. Scrap paper use is encouraged while working the problems. Solving problems with more than one strategy is encouraged in math. Ruling out wrong answers and reading all answer choices are also good test taking strategies.
