Pike Central Vocational Welding Pike Central Vocational Welding is a high school training program located in Petersburg, Indiana. We are a dual credit program, partnering with Ivy Tech.

Students earn college credits in career focused courses and build a foundation for their future.

P.C.V.W. is back at for the 2026-2027 school year. Building renovations are coming along nicely and the new and returning students are excited to start moving back in! Hopefully it won't be too long. We are all eager to get back at it.
Our apparel store is open until August 27th. We wanted to share it with the public this year and we appreciate the support. There is a spot for a student name on the site. It's okay to leave that blank. Shirts will be ready to pick up at Pike Central 2-3 weeks after the store closes. Check it out and grab some gear!!

These guys... what can I say... One tough group of fine young men!
Their backs have been against the wall several times throughout the program and here they are on top again. Proving what hard work and dedication can accomplish.

P.C V.W. headed to the Midwest Team Tournament today and took home 1st place at the J. Everett Light Career Center in Indianapolis. There were 14 other teams and 75 competitors total. This was a huge win for our team.

We are 8 days away from the huge Midwest Team Welding Competition! The competition will take place in Indianapolis and will likely have more then 20 teams competing. We held on to a small shop set-up as long as possible allowing these students to make the most of their last few days of being able to weld. Tuesday we cleared the shop completely and turned it over to the general contractor for the summer renovation. These students have worked hard preparing and I know without a doubt they will show up and do their absolute best!

After 14 weeks of hard work in the shop we took a break for some shenanigans and dodgeball. We have been slowly preparing for a large, roof off summer renovation since the semester started. The juniors have been juggling a lot for the last couple of months. Volunteering to help where needed and doing the majority of the preperation and moving on top of keeping up with their welding assignments. This has allowed our seniors to lock in on contests, certifications, and graduation. Thanks for the help! Both of these classes have showed up and are doing big things here at Pike Central. 👊 👊 Stay tuned and have a great weekend!

Here ya have it folks.. .. Student of the month..to 2nd place in the SkillsUSA Indiana state leadership conference and competition! It's been a heck of a month for this guy!! Congratulations Corbin Traylor! He brought the hardware back to Pike Central High School today and a $7500 scholarship and a prize package as well!

These 4 young men faced a very stout welding test at the Local 440 Plumbers & Steamfitters training center in Indianapolis. The blueprint and welding project covered 3 welding processes and 4 positions. The project was positioned low to the ground and it stayed in that location for the duration of the 4 hour test. These welding scores were combined with a professional development test, written welding theory test, and also a student prepared resume to determine the final scores.
There were 24 contestants representing 5 different regions covering the whole state of Indiana. I am very proud of all 4 of them! They all did well and showed determination, skill, and professionalism all day long. It's been a heck of a long day and these young men will sleep well tonight. Way to work fellas!! 👊 👊
