This summer, Donovan Klein attended North Dakota Boys State at NDSCS, where he had the opportunity to learn about leadership, government, and civic engagement.

Donovan was elected to several offices throughout the week and was a finalist for Attorney General. He described the experience as fantastic and a great opportunity to meet new people and develop his leadership skills.

Boys State and Girls State are held annually and juniors are eligible to attend. We encourage our students to take advantage of this incredible opportunity!

Three years ago, the high school went cell phone free and we’re seeing some pretty great things.

Students are chasing frogs at lunch, playing cards in the sunshine, talking, laughing, and simply being silly teenagers.

Sometimes taking the phone away doesn’t take something from kids. It gives something back: connection, conversation, creativity, and the chance to just be kids.

Three years in, we’re still seeing the difference.
