VSU College of Agriculture is here in Orangeburg for South Carolina State's Ag and Land-Grant Celebration Week! 1890 Research & Extension

It is a pleasure to bring our students, researchers, staff and leadership down to spend time with a fellow 1890 land-grant institution.

It was a great a kick off at their Meat 'N' Greet, and there is real science happening on that grill.

Join us for an informative and empowering Prostate Health Event focused on education, early detection, and access to valuable health resources. Early detection can save lives, and understanding your risk factors is an important step toward taking control of your health.

We sat down with Tara Dickerson, Health Extension Specialist with Virginia Cooperative Extension and the VSU College of Agriculture, to hear more about what’s coming to Petersburg with this necessary event.

Virginia’s small farmers and ranchers, this one is for YOU! 🌱

The 2026 Small Farm Conference is coming to Norfolk October 15–16th, bringing together small farmers, rural and urban producers, ranchers, and agribusiness professionals for two days of learning, networking, and practical resources.

You’ll have the opportunity to learn smart business strategies, successful marketing and production practices, and current research from scientists at Virginia State University’s Agricultural Research Station. The conference will also include facility and farm bus tours, expert-led discussions, professional networking, and a special performance by the VSU Concert Choir.

The room was PACKED and it was a beautiful sight. Seeing this many of you come out to our VSU College of Agriculture Welcome Back Cookout says something special about the College of Agriculture, and we are most grateful!

It was a pleasure sharing space, fellowshipping, and having the chance to take some of you on a brief tour of Randolph Farm. And remember, that was just a taste of our 416 acre learning farm! You have all school year to schedule a more in-depth tour, so get with us for more information.

To everyone who helped serve and provide donations for today's meal, thank you. You kept the line moving and the plates full. To our alumni who spent the day with us, we also give thanks for sharing your stories. Our students need to see where this degree can take them, and you showed them.

And to our faculty, staff, and leadership who made this possible, we appreciate YOU.
