Dear Well School Community,
I am pleased to write to you about a wonderful and upcoming event scheduled for October. This past week, the Well School opened its doors to 121 students, 24 faculty members, and nine support staff, officially marking the beginning of our 59th year as a PreK–8 school nestled in the beautiful Monadnock region.
For decades, The Well School has strived to offer a rich and creative educational experience where classroom learning is seamlessly blended with the arts, outdoor exploration, and hands-on projects. Our students are nurtured and inspired by a dedicated faculty and staff—many of whom have chosen this community not only as their workplace but as the school for their own children.
This is my second year as Head of School, and over the past year, I’ve had the great privilege of witnessing the many ways The Well School brings its mission to life. Whether through tried-and-true traditions, experiential learning, or the deep connections formed between students and staff, the spirit of this community is appreciated by all.
While there is much to share with you about the goings on at The Well School, I would love to update you in person during our upcoming Alumni Gathering on October 18th and 19th. There is a collective agreement that it is time to re-engage our alumni and alumni parents, and what better way to make this happen than the dedication of the Founders’ Table installed last spring by the frog pond in honor of Jay and Toni Garland.
Please consider joining us on Saturday, October 18th, as we transform our campus for Harvest Fest - a Well School family event - and in the afternoon, officially open our doors to Alumni Gathering. We invite you to take part in a traditional Well School soccer game, dust off your guitars and harmonicas for a Saturday night Coffee House, and on Sunday morning, enjoy a delicious brunch followed by the Founders’ Table Ribbon Cutting ceremony.
More information will be headed your way, but I hope you will consider returning to ‘The Well’, and encourage your classmates and friends to do the same, and spend a weekend reliving memories and making new ones. If you are on social media, keep your eyes open for updates on The Well School’s pages.
Personally, I would love the opportunity to meet our alumni and alumni parents, recall with you past experiences, and share the vision for the future of The Well School.
Mark your calendars - October 18 and 19, 2025.
Warmly,
Anne E. Swayze, M.Ed
