This week our kitchen got to host the loveliest pretzel making class taught by Chef Clare Elaine, the pretzel lady of Sonoma County and owner of Wooden Petal Pretzel Parlor. In just 3 hours, our students learned how to make their own pretzel dough, roll and shape a variety of pretzel styles, create a delicious and simple dip, and boil and bake their hand-made pretzels to the perfect “glaze”. Each student left with multiple boxes overflowing with the delicious results of their work, and a newfound confidence that they can indeed make their own delicious pretzels at home.

Thank you to Chef Clare Elaine for the wonderful class! We look forward to having you back in our kitchen very soon.

If you would like to be on the waitlist for Chef Clare Elaine’s next pretzel class at the Artisan Baking Center, send us a message with your name and email address and we will be sure to let you know when the next dates drop!

Join Chef Rosetta Costantino for a culinary journey to Puglia, the sun-drenched heel of Italy, where we’ll explore some of her favorite traditional dishes from this beautiful southern region.

In this hands-on class, you’ll learn how to shape orecchiette, Puglia’s signature pasta, which we’ll pair with a pesto made with fresh fava beans. We’ll fire up the grill to make Bombette—irresistible little pork rolls filled with gooey, melted cheese that burst with flavor. Then, we’ll prepare pitta Salentina, a specialty from the Salento area, and Taralli Pugliesi, a delectable traditional bread snack. To finish, we’ll indulge in a sweet treat from Lecce: Pasticciotto Leccese, a flaky pastry shell filled with rich pastry cream.
