Sunrise Elementary School

Sunrise Elementary School Sunrise School was the education foundation for many children in Forrest County, Mississippi through the years. There was a lot of community support.

The teachers loved their jobs and their students. It was a blessing to attend Sunrise!

I'm so thankful to have attended Sunrise School.  This was such a sad day for many of us.  I have so many great memories...

Sunrise School had the best Halloween carnivals! Haunted house, fortune teller, fishing, and cake walks. There was so much more. What was your favorite?

What are some of your favorite Christmas memories of Sunrise School? I remember making the clove oranges and the room smelling so good! I always loved the gift bag from our wonderful cafeteria ladies. There was always an orange, an apple, peppermint and their wonderful sugar cookies.

As I was mowing yesterday, I noticed all the little onion flowers blooming. I can remember picking those onion flowers and giving them to my teacher. They always acted they were a bouquet of roses. It seems like there were always onion flowers on the teacher's desk throughout Spring.
