We’re excited to welcome Coach Chandler Ray to the Petal Baseball family! A Poplarville native, Chandler brings a wealth of experience in athlete development and a passion for helping players grow both on and off the field.

Coach Ray's athletic and academic background includes:

Poplarville High School
Pearl River Community College
Mississippi State University – B.S. in Kinesiology (Performance Fitness)
From 2021–2023, Chandler coached at Traction Sports Performance in Hattiesburg, where he trained high school, collegiate, and professional athletes. His areas of expertise include:
Strength & Conditioning
Speed & Agility Development
Sport-Specific Player Development

Coach Ray recently worked at Poplarville High School and Middle School where he served as both a football and baseball coach (Head Coach at the Middle School for both teams). His football team won the state championship in 2024 and baseball won it in 2026.

Petal Baseball is excited to welcome Coach Tanner Moulder to our coaching staff. We are thrilled to have him join the Panther family and look forward to the impact he’ll make on our program.

A native of Hendersonville, Tennessee, Coach Moulder played two seasons at Motlow State Community College before completing his collegiate career as a pitcher at Belhaven University. Following graduation, he began his coaching career with three years at Terry High School and five years at Ridgeland High School, serving as pitching coach at both programs. He then became the Head Baseball Coach at St. Joseph Catholic School in Madison, Mississippi, before joining the Petal Baseball staff.

Coach Moulder holds a Master’s Degree in Teaching and a Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership. He is excited to be part of the tradition and culture that make Petal Baseball one of the premier programs in Mississippi and is committed to developing our pitching staff while helping continue the championship standard that defines Panther Baseball.

⚾ Petal Middle School Baseball Tryout Update ⚾

Congratulations to the following players who have been selected for the Petal Middle School Baseball Team based on their performances during the first two tryout sessions!

Players who have not yet attended a tryout or have only attended one tryout session are invited to attend the final tryout on:

📅 Tuesday, July 14
🕓 4:00 p.m.
📍 Petal Middle School Baseball Field

Please Note:

This final tryout is only for players who have not yet participated or who have attended only one tryout session.
Players who have already attended both scheduled tryout sessions are not eligible to attend the make-up tryout.

Congratulations again to those who have earned a roster spot, and good luck to those participating in the final tryout!
