🍐 Call for Volunteers: This Thursday our farm team will be harvesting our pears, and we would love helping hands to support this big lift from 9-12 on 8/20. Sign up as a volunteer.

🗓️ Every year is different with our fruit trees. This year some pears had fire blight, and those that are ready (brix tested) are almost a month earlier than last year. Grateful for our farm team's steady observation and land stewardship!

🍎 The Whole Pie: The Whole Family!
✨We can’t wait to share this special evening with your whole family as our work has always been rooted in youth education.
🎨 Children are welcome at the Whole Pie! We have an activity area where young guests can enjoy time with their families, while taking part in all the other features of evening.
🍼 If your toddler or infant can comfortably sit on a lap, they do not need an additional seat. If they will need their own seat (and ticket) during the meal.

❤️ Moments: Small moments can have a big impact when open to the experience. At Pie Ranch, we hear this feedback often.
🍎 A visiting student tasting a field-fresh strawberry for the first time- a flavor they have never tasted before. A group of Mission High youth planting apple trees, and able to return 20 years later to harvest from their fruit abundance. A volunteer dividing dahlia tubers, coming back week after week to then support our colorful flower harvest.
📍These moments begin here, and they grow to have lasting impact. What is a small moment from a visit you had to Pie Ranch that has stayed with you? If you haven’t visited us yet, come experience this place by joining a volunteer day, stopping by our Farmstand, and scheduling your group’s retreat on-site.

🤝 Collaboration: A fair, sustainable food system doesn’t happen overnight. It’s built day by day, lesson by lesson, and seed by seed.
✨ In 2025, our non-profit educational farm grew 16,000 lbs of food, hosted 887 youth program participants, and our farmstand fans enjoyed 3,447 pies.
📣 To everyone who is part of our online community, every like, share, and comment is helping amplify our voice and impact. It’s more than farmers harvesting each crop with care and volunteers supporting up in the fields; each of us plays a role in building our strong community and food system!

🌿 Restoration: At Pie Ranch, regenerative farming begins with caring for the ecosystem. Farmers work with the land, through practices like planting cover crops and adding organic matter. Regenerative farming is about caring for the land beyond one season’s harvest.
💚 Every seed planted, and every crop tended creates a stronger ecosystem for our future. By restoring soil and supporting biodiversity, Pie Ranch is growing a system that cares for both people and the planet.

🌻 The classroom: While we do have a classroom at Pie Ranch, some of the best learning happens on the farm. Students get their hands in the soil - planting, harvesting crops, and then cooking with those fresh ingredients. Through these hands-on experiences, young adults build skills and knowledge, connecting them to where their food comes from and food that nourishes themselves and their communities.
🏫 We are open for fall and winter field trips to bring your students to experience this learning beyond the classroom. Learn more by visiting our website and plan to schedule a trip!
