Our program places a strong emphasis on parental involvement in our daily operations and within our classroom. Our 3-Year-Old Program
Our three-year-old program focuses on teaching children to follow basic instructions, and to take direction from adults other than their primary caregivers. There is also a great deal of emphasis on socialization and peer interaction. The program is activity-centere
d and structured enough for familiarity and comfort, yet flexible enough to afford exploration of self-direction. Class size is limited to 14 students to ensure that each child receives individual attention. Each day has a 'star' student, whose parent or guardian joins in for the day as a helper. School is held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 9:00am-11:30am. A typical day looks something like this:
Arrive, put coat, backpack, and personal items in cubby. Participate in group 'carpet time.' Review the day of the week, color of the day, weather, and more, led by the 'star.'
Rotate between 2-3 activity centers, making a project, completing a worksheet, coloring, or similar activities. Eat a snack with classmates, brought and set out by the 'star' and his or her caregiver or parents. Listen to a story by the teachers, and learn about the 'star's' 'show and tell' item. Play in the gym room or on the playground, weather permitting. Gather items and wait for parents to arrive for release. Our 4-Year-Old Program
Our four-year-old program focuses on developing skills that your child will build upon in Kindergarten. Activities focus on fine motor development, including using scissors, learning to write letters, letter sounds, and more. As with the three-year-old program, each day has a 'star' student, whose parent parent or guardian joins in for the day as a helper. School is held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, from 9:00am-12:00pm. The slight 'step up' in hours from the three-year-old program is good preparation for the full-day of kindergarten the children will experience the following year.
