Bobcat Spotlight: Lisa Parriott, CMIS Faculty, School of Professional Studies

Lisa has been with the college for 29 years!

1. What do you enjoy most about being part of the Bobcat team?
A great example is the annual High School Business Contest. We host around 450 people for one day of competition. This takes so many volunteers, and it is wonderful to see everyone come together to make it a terrific event.

2. What’s one thing you love about working here that makes it special?
Everyone at PSC works together for the betterment of all students.

3. What’s a fun fact about you that your coworkers might not know?
My first role at PSC was in the Humanities department.

4. What’s the most rewarding part of your role?
Seeing students build confidence in technical skills and applying what they’ve learned is incredibly rewarding. Watching that “aha” moment happen never gets old.

5. What’s your favorite Bobcat memory or tradition so far?
So many. One is watching students grow from the point of unsure freshman into confident, knowledgeable graduates.

6. How does your role contribute to the team or organization?
I help prepare students for the workplace by equipping them with technology skills, contributing an important piece to their overall success.

7. What motivates you to do your best work?
Students motivate me. Knowing that what I teach can directly impact their future careers inspires me to keep improving, learning, and bringing fresh ideas into the classroom.
