Bobcat Spotlight: Christian Stacy
Role/Department: Admissions
Years with Us: 4
What do you enjoy most about being part of the Bobcat team?
The students, of course! Whether they are just starting their journey with PSC or have been here for a while, they are why I do what I do.
What's one thing you love about working here that makes it special?
My sister, who is now finishing up her time here. Watching her grow from Freshman year to now has been the privilege of a lifetime.
What's a fun fact about you that coworkers might not know?
I once took an elephant on a walk.
What's the most rewarding part of your role?
Graduation. Being in admissions means I get to work with students before they have even decided Peru is the school for them. Watching them walk the stage 4 years later makes me tear up every time.
How has working here helped you grow?
I've learned a lot. From how to survive 1500 miles of driving in a single week to learning about education systems across the planet, being a counselor lets you see a lot more of the world than you would ever expect.
What's your favorite Bobcat memory or tradition so far?
The Tree Lighting Ceremony! Christmas has always been my favorite holiday. Getting to spend a slice of it with students and coworkers is always a fun treat. Plus, I now have a whole PSC mug collection!
If you could describe our workplace in one word, what would it be and why?
Rewarding. Being a counselor is not easy work; but I get to watch students from the first day they are Freshman to the day they walk the stage. I get to meet students from around the United States, and around the world, and I get to play a small part in making their educational journey happen. I can't think of much that's more rewarding than that.
