So sad to hear of the loss of our classmate, Laurie (Alleman) Weber! Here is info from her page:

In loving memory of our beloved, inspirational, strong, and amazingly talented Laurie Weber. Her departure leaves a void in our hearts, but we choose to celebrate the beautiful moments shared and the invaluable lessons she imparted. Laurie's memory lives on through her enduring impact on the culinary world and with those fortunate enough to have known her.

A celebration of her extraordinary life will be,

Hey Class of 1981…..Since the alumni event was cancelled for this year, we thought it would be nice to get together for dinner. We’d love to have as many class members as possible to join in for dinner on Saturday, November 13 at Lakeview Grille in Yorkville @ 6:00pm. Let Connie Moriarty know or simply post a comment here by Sunday November 7 if you are able to make it so we can make reservations. Hope you see you there!

IMPORTANT: 2021 Alumni Event Cancelled

Due to the new restrictions for the Covid 19 delta variant being mandated by the State of Illinois and the CDC tomorrow August 30, 2021, the Class of 1980 and the Class of 1981 regret to announce the cancellation of the 2021 Tonica Alumni Dinner and Meeting which was planned for September 11, 2021. For those that sent in their reservations and checks, your uncashed checks will be returned to you.

We are sorry for this change in plans for all those who planned on attending and celebrating. The decision is solely based on keeping all of us safe. We hope to have an announcement within the next few months for the proposed date of the 2022 dinner and meeting.

Our wish is for all of you and your families to be safe!

The annual Tonica High School Alumni Dinner and Meeting will be held at the Oglesby Elks Club on 800 East Walnut Street on Saturday, September 11, 2021. Registration and sign-in will be from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with dinner at 7:00 p.m. Reservations will be $ 30.00 for a single and $ 60.00 for a couple. Please send reservations to Mrs. Connie Moriarty-P.O. Box 26-Tonica, IL. 61370 and make checks payable to the Tonica High School Alumni Association. Please indicate which class you graduated from and if applicable both your maiden name and your married name. We are also requesting an email address as well. The email address will be used for future correspondence. Since last year’s event was cancelled, we will be honoring both years of the 40, 50, and 60-year classes. The class of 1980/1981, 1970/1971, 1960/1961 and 1990 classes as well as all other classes will be honored that evening.

German Flores passed away this week in his sleep after treatment for a heart issue. It was so wonderful that we were able to visit with him just last year.

Rest in peace German. You will be missed!
