Excited to start our 2nd Dirigo Elementary Afterschool Programs Thanksgiving Parade 2025. The kids will be learning about Macy's Thanksgiving Parade and create their own floats or balloons. We will read Balloons over Broadway and watch videos on how creators design the floats and balloon for Macy's parades. Parade is Tuesday nov 25th at 4pm at DES

Dirigo's Arts Alive k-2 2025, After School Program offered free popcorn, recycled crafting -> making rain sticks and cardboard boomer rangs, activity sheets on Australia... the photography club had pictures on display as well we provided a photo booth with props, great turn out ❤️

DES After School Program 2024 our kiddo's getting balloons and floats ready for our first Thanksgiving parade, some very creative work happening. This started with a story book "Balloons Over Broadway" a great STEAM activity of learning.

Does anyone have these in their party decorations and no longer need. Would like to get some for my after school program we are doing a Thanksgiving Dirigo/Macy's Parade and making floats for the parade. The kids can not take balloons on the bus, please help an activity instructor with my search... thanks they can be any size or color thanks.. also looking or Styrofoam meat trays as well...any size or color. We recycle a lot in our program it helps keep our supply budget down, so if you have crafts, egg cartons, tin cans, boxes, newspaper, toilet paper rolls, paper towel rolls, bottle caps, caps, skewers, felt, etc... we will post a video on Nov 22 at the school and online for all to enjoy and see the science,technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) We also.added literacy activity with the Book called balloons over Broadway which tell the story of how the Macy's Thanksgiving day started and the inventor/engineer that created the first parade..
