Job Description: Lead Preschool Teacher
Required Skills and Experience:
Looking for an individual who is warm, nurturing and sensitive to the feelings of young children.
The ideal candidate should have a love for children and a strong desire to make a difference every day. Ability to build relationships with families and coworkers and create a dynamic environment where play and learning happens. A person that has the desire to support early childhood social, emotional and cognitive development. Has demonstrated skills to properly address the developmental needs of toodler, preschoolers.
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the designated curriculum through proper daily implementation with developmentally appropriate conversations, behaviors and guidance strategies and ability to model for teaching staff, children, parents, and interns.
• Must be able to plan teacher-directed activities such as language and literacy, physical - small/large motor skills, music and movement, colors, counting, ABC's etc.
• Exceptional organization and planning skills.
• Ability to write and implement lesson plans that are appropriate to the age group involved in accordance with the curriculum
• Must be computer proficient with basic proficiency computer skills
• Ability to convey a positive attitude at all times while working with children, parents and other staff members.
• Ability to communicate and follow the philosophy of positive reinforcement and redirection.
• Ability to maintain a safe and clean atmosphere for children at all times. Ensures all sanitary procedures are followed regarding diaper changes, potty learning, toys and classroom sterilization.
• Flexible and acts positively toward suggestions which are intended to improving performance and implement changes where necessary and willing to help other team members.
• Abides and understands all licensing procedures including all state licensing entities, Fire Dept., Health Dept., etc.
• CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to
• Must meet basic requirements of local child care regulatory agency
• Previous teaching or assistant teaching position in a licensed early childhood program preferred
• Infant - Preschool Teachers: 2 year degree in early childhood or related field preferred
• Pre-Kindergarten Teachers: 4 year degree in early childhood or related field required
Desired work hours are: Full time: 8:00am- 4:00pm, 8:30am – 4:30pm, or 9:00am-5:00pm
