Academy For Urban Leadership Charter School Founded in 2010 in Perth Amboy, NJ. One of Middlesex County's comprehensive Public Charter Schools. We offer an advanced academic track and AP courses.

Founded in 2010 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, the Academy for Urban Leadership Charter School is one of Middlesex County's comprehensive Public Charter Schools that serves students in seventh through twelfth grades. The school operates under the terms of a charter granted by the New Jersey Department of Education. When the school first opened in 2010, it did not have the books, tables, or classrooms

necessary for students to be in an adequate learning environment. Even the principal, at the time, had to serve as a lunch aide. Since then, AUL has developed to help students receive the education they deserve. AUL has expanded by opening an additional campus serving grades 7-8, providing the opportunity for students to continue to succeed, with graduation and college admission as two of its goals. Four Academies:
Research suggests that students perform better when knowledge is related to their organic life. As a result, AUL has designed its curriculum to focus on four Academies which include Applied Science, Law/Public & Safety, Business & Technology and Human Development. Students are given an opportunity to explore interests and take courses related to their chosen field, providing students with an opportunity to utilize knowledge in their everyday life.
