My heart is so full after this year’s Full Moon 25K/50K. 🌕💛
As Race Director, I get to see firsthand just how many people it takes to bring this race to life, and I am incredibly thankful for every single one of you.
To our volunteers, aid station crews, HAM radio operators, Williams Junction firefighters, medical support, Camp Ouachita staff, sponsors, friends, family members, and everyone who worked behind the scenes, thank you. You gave your time, energy, resources, sleep, sweat, and love to take care of our runners. This race simply could not happen without you.
Specific thank you to the following:
Aaron Presser - You and your team are consistently amazing. You take care of us every year and help ensure things run smoothly. Arkansas State Parks is truly lucky to have you!
Chris Horton - thank you for literally everything. From filling jugs to running SAG. Emotional support. Picking me up after a zero-gravity chair ate me.
Jasen Andersen for volunteering to run the 50k SAG! You are THE BEST!
The powerhouse of our race:
Brad Taylor at OT Trail
Chris Davis at 25k Turn Around
Erich Washausen at 50K Turn Around
Thank you for keeping it fun and safe out there. You got some rave reviews!
Thank you to Tara Hicks the reigning queen of packet pick-up! She keeps it going smoothly.
Chris Baldwin & Dan Sobkoviak - Aint nobody getting lost on your watch. Thanks for doing such an amazing job marking our course.
Thank you, AURA, for letting me direct this wonderful race!
Thank you SO MUCH Missy Harken for your support!
Jim Grinder (HAM) for making sure every runner get home and being so wonderful to work with even when it's super-hot and late/early.
To our runners, thank you for trusting us with your race experience. Watching you push through the heat, darkness, exhaustion, and every hard mile was inspiring. Whether you crossed the finish line, made it farther than you thought possible, or learned something that will bring you back stronger, you were part of the magic of Full Moon.
This race is about so much more than miles. It brings together an incredible trail running community while supporting the Logan Wilcoxson Memorial Fund, the Arkansas Crisis Center, the Arkansas Ultra Running High School Cross Country Fund, the Williams Junction Fire Department, and our magnificent HAM operators. That purpose means more to me than I can adequately put into words.
Being the Race Director of Full Moon is an enormous responsibility, but it is also one of the greatest honors of my life. Thank you for showing up, helping one another, and making this wild, beautiful night so special.
I am exhausted, grateful, proud, and already carrying a list of things we can make even better next year 7/24/27. Until then, thank you for being part of the Full Moon family. 🌕🏃♀️🏃♂️
