Our Perry Point housing is getting some upgrades 🏠🧰

Thank you to Glass Doctor in Bel Air for installing our new windows and to Kaizen Painters for painting the houses- they did an amazing job! We'd also like to give a shout out to our very own Rich for installing new handrails! We love the opportunity to improve our veteran housing and create even better spaces for our veterans to stay as they regain stability.

This week, CHEP, Inc. celebrated the grand opening and ribbon cutting of our corporate office located in Havre de Grace! It was an honor to be recognized by the Harford County Chamber of Commerce and to share this experience with Harford Family House!

We are grateful for all the support and hard work that has brought us to this moment. We'd like to thank our staff and board who came out to support us and to all of you who have partnered with CHEP through the years. We know this milestone will be one of many as we continue to work to help veterans in need until EVERY veteran finds stability, hope, and the opportunity to thrive!

Our Perry Point and South Carolina teams attended the Stand Down resource fair this week!

Our teams were able to share information about our veteran housing programs and other resources offered by CHEP. We also got to celebrate one of our SC veterans who was hired on the spot and got to ring the bell!

We appreciate the opportunity to share our mission and meet veterans in our community ❤️

There’s a lot to celebrate at Perry Point this week!

One of our Veterans is preparing to graduate from CHEP’s transitional housing program and move into permanent housing. He’s working, building toward his next chapter, and now has a new set of wheels to help him get to and from work 🚲

When CHEP team member Jahnee learned that transportation was a challenge, she reached out to her personal network, and they came together to purchase a bike for him.

We’re proud of the work this Veteran has put in to reach this point, grateful for the kindness shown by Jahnee and her community, and excited to see him take this next step!

Last week, volunteers from APGFCU joined us at the CHEP Outpost during the Cecil Cares event to help process donations! Thanks to their hard work, we were able to clear space in our donation trailer and fill the floor with new items.

Last week our veterans gathered to enjoy pizza and bingo! They had a great time getting to know one another, sharing about their hobbies and interests, and playing bingo for some fun prizes.

We are grateful for our program team and their heart for our veterans and to those who partner with CHEP that make gatherings like this possible!

Our very own Ronald Copeland was recognized as the South Carolina Department of Veterans’ Affairs Veteran of the Month!

Congratulations to our October Veteran of the Month: SSG Ronald E. Copeland!

Copeland's story began in Fairfax, Virginia, but his pursuit of education and military service brought him to the Lowcountry of South Carolina.

Copeland enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He achieved the rank of Corporal before separating from the Marine Corps in 2014. Unable to shake the call to serve, he enlisted in the U.S. Army in 2016, later making the rank of Staff Sergeant by the end of his contract.

The transition to civilian life posed a number of challenges to Copeland. Through his struggles, he found his way to WakeUp Carolina and peer support helped him on his journey to thriving.

Copeland is now training to be able to offer the same support that changed his life, and his willingness to share his story has already inspired other Veterans to chart a new path forward after service.
