We are a DDTCS facility that works with children ranging from six weeks to five years in age. We offer a wide variety of services, and strive to provide our clients and their families with tools tailored to meet their individual needs. These needs are determined through an assessment made by the child’s primary care physician and a team of professionals. Once the client’s needs are defined, a cust
om plan outlining the distinct services needed is provided. Since each child is different, their plans are too. Some plans will encompass all the services offered at Step by Step and some will only partake in various services. These types of services can become quite costly; however, the beauty of Step by Step is that if your child qualifies for our programming, it is provided at NO cost to the parent! Services Provided:
Speech Pathology/Therapy-provides communication training in expressive, receptive and articulation skills to promote the ability of the individual to communicate wants and needs. Occupational Therapy-provides strengthening of hand usage, daily living and feeding skills. Physical Therapy-provides strengthening of gross motor skills, such as, balance coordination and range of motion. Nursing-provides medication administration and special feeding along with onsite first aid and intervention. Early Intervention-provides services in the home for children ages birth to three years. focuses on play activities that incorporate all areas of development. Transportation-provides a way to and from the home as needed and it includes individuals trained through the AHTD in the safe transport of individuals in public transportation and specifically in regard to individuals with specific seating/safety needs. Nutrition-provides breakfast, lunch and snacks which are regulated through the DOH food program to offer a nutritious diet. As a part of the CCCEC we aim to help carry out the mission of the Center by enabling all persons served to achieve their individual potential through the implementation of the above stated services and age appropriate activities.
