Our instructors have greatly varied experiences which we feel allows us to better reach most fire departments. All of our instructors are currently paid firefighters for one department and volunteer at at least one other. We know the struggles faced by departments of all sizes, from rural volunteer departments who have dwindling volunteer numbers and depend on water shuttles at fires to combinati
on departments in bustling suburban communities, and urban fire departments with heavy fire load. All of our instructors are Ohio certified Firefighter 2, Fire Instructors, and Technical Rescue Technicians. We feel that because of our varied experiences and extensive training, we can provide training to your department that is truly second to none. Our specialties include Engine Company Operations, Truck Company Operations, Basic and Advanced Vehicle Extrication, Rapid Intervention Team Operations, and Vent Enter Search, among other various topics. Through our travels we have found that there are usually a few apprehensions that departments have regarding outside instructors coming in to teach:
- Cost. This is usually the number one thing that departments consider. All instructors of Squad 5 training are in this business to assist brother and sister firefighters in providing the best service possible to their citizens. We do not expect, nor do we strive to become rich. Our cost structure is negotiable depending on department size, budget, etc. . We know that budgets are tight and departments everywhere are looking to stretch their dollar further and further and for this reason it is our policy to never turn down a department that wants to train. One of the best ways to fund a training class is to open attendance up to area departments and charge a small fee per participant. This way, the training will cost your department NOTHING and your department can even use this as a fundraiser.
-Outside Instructors. Many departments are apprehensive, and rightfully so, of outside instructors coming to their department and telling them that everything they do is wrong and how they need to change. We pride ourselves on taking the exact opposite approach. Before we even set foot in your station we will take the time to review your Standard Operating Procedures and equipment inventory and to talk TO you, NOT AT you regarding what you would like from our training. For these reasons, we feel that we can provide your department with extraordinary training at a price that cannot be matched.
