The last and arguably one of the most important board members is our Treasurer, Deb Schiering! Deb has been on the board for many years and knows all the ins and outs. Here’s a little about Deb:

My daughter, Zoey, is in 5th grade at HPI, and my son, Zander, is in 2nd grade with Mrs. Simok.

When we aren’t busy juggling work, school, and way too many extracurricular activities, our family loves spending time outdoors, baking, doing crafts, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and, most of all, seeking out new experiences and making memories together.

One of my favorite things about being part of the WPC is getting to be involved in all of the events we put on. There’s something so special about watching the kids have fun, make new friends, and create memories together. The event I look forward to the most, though, is the climbing event. Climbing is one of our favorite hobbies as a family, so I love being able to share something we enjoy so much with our WPC community. It’s incredibly rewarding to watch both kids and adults push themselves outside of their comfort zones, overcome challenges, encourage one another, and celebrate each other’s accomplishments. There’s something really special about watching someone realize they’re capable of more than they thought they could do!

Another very special part of the WPC for me is Nicky’s Snack Shack. It holds a very special place in my heart as a way to honor Nicky Hancock, a past WPC president and, most importantly, my best friend. Nicky gave so much of her time, energy, and heart to the parent club and our community. She had an incredible ability to bring people together and make everyone feel welcome.

Being able to continue her legacy through Nicky’s Snack Shack means more to me than I can put into words. It’s a beautiful reminder of the impact she made, the memories she created, and the love she shared with so many of us. I’m so grateful that we can keep her spirit alive in a place where our families can come together, have fun, and continue making memories—just as Nicky would have wanted.

The next board member is WPC’s Vice President Courtney Rambo(me!). I handle our social media and messages, and I’m part of most of our events at school. Here’s a bit about me:

I have a first and fourth grader. In the little free time I have, I like to read lots of books, swim and spend as much time with my family as possible! I love being part of the Parent Club and being part of making memories for the students.

One of my favorite WPC events is the winter shop. I love watching students shop for their families and their excitement talking about their finds. I also love the family dance and watching all the work pay off! 💛🖤

With it being a new school year, we want to reintroduce our board members for WPC! We like for you know who we are so that when you see us out and about around school you can say hello! First up is our returning President, Nikki Massie! Nikki does almost all of the hard work- planning, executing, and thinking of all the little details that make things so special at our events.
Here’s a little about her:

I have 1 kiddo in 5th grade and 1 kiddo in 3rd grade with Mr Lingle.

When I am not working, I like to spend time with my family whether it’s playing golf, board games or being outside! I also enjoy running.

What I love most about Parent Club is giving back to the kids and staff! Creating memories for families to reflect and look back on brings me so much joy. Of all the events we do, Family Fun Night and the Apex event are my most favorite! Family Fun Night creates an atmosphere of happiness and helps us close the school year out as a big family while the Apex event helps kids build their leadership skills while giving them an opportunity to be a part of the investment for a better school experience.

Our first week of Walking Club begins Wednesday, September 23! All students must have a form filled out granting them permission to participate. Scan the QR code in our flyer or follow the link below to sign up your child. You’ll also find the themes for each week at the link, and the volunteer sign up is there as well! Please note: you’ll enter your name at the beginning of registration, and then the next screen you’ll take yours out and enter your students name. Please be sure to enter their grade and teacher name.

Thank you, families! We raised $372.80 at our Red Robin foodraiser, just by you having dinner there! Our foodraisers are a monthly fundraiser where you dine at that restaurant and the restaurant donates a portion of sales back to us. You usually just tell or show them the flyer and we get credit. We thank you so much! 💛🖤🐝
