What a day. ❤️

Started the morning showing off my little hostel bunk, fueled up with coffee, then made a Target run where I found the perfect jacket on clearance for $13 (because apparently Oregon didn’t get the memo that I only packed shorts and a t-shirt 😆).

Checked “In-N-Out Burger” off my bucket list — 20/10, absolutely lived up to the hype. 🍔

Then it was off to Eugene with breathtaking views along I-5 and a heart full of gratitude.

Today, Xav wrapped up his season at nationals with an All-American Honorable Mention. Not the finish he was dreaming of, but a season filled with growth, grit, PRs, and proof that he’s capable of even bigger things next year. Watching your child stand among the top athletes in the nation is something I’ll never take for granted.

We ended the night with Track Town Pizza (another 20/10 🍕), ice cream, and cheering on Xav’s teammates as they competed under the lights.

What a day.
What a season.
What a life.

My cup truly runneth over. ❤️💚

4:00 AM alarms, two flights, a time change, and one very tired mama. ✈️😴

Today’s adventure: Detroit ➡️ Chicago ➡️ Portland.

Now I’m checked into the iconic bunkhouse at the Society Hotel Portland in downtown Portland, running on caffeine, excitement, and pure determination. 😂

Life isn’t about having the fanciest accommodations or the easiest journey. It’s about collecting experiences, making memories, and showing up for the people you love.

Tomorrow, I get to watch Xav compete on the biggest stage of his career at nationals, and there’s nowhere else I’d rather be. Every early alarm, tight budget, layover, and bunk bed is worth it.

Grateful for the opportunity. Grateful for the journey. Grateful to be here.

💚 GO GREEN. 💚

Some people see a sunset.
I see the fingerprints of the Creator.

No artist paints the sky like Jesus.
Tonight, I’m reminded that the same God who hung every color above me is still writing beauty into my story too. 🌅✨

Spent the afternoon doing yard work… mowing, trimming, spraying weeds…
and somewhere between playlists and pulling roots, it clicked:

Not everything ugly is the real problem.

Weeds will fool you.
You see the mess on the surface and think, that’s what needs fixed.

Nope.

You can spray it.
Cut it down.
Make it look better for a minute…

…but if the root is still there?
Give it time. It’ll be back. Every. Single. Time.

Funny how life works the same way.

We’re quick to call out what’s visible—
the reaction, the behavior, the moment…
but the real issue?

That’s buried deeper.
Quieter.
Harder to face.

And let’s be honest—
dealing with the root takes more work than just cleaning up what people can see.

🌿 But surface fixes don’t create real change.

So here’s your reminder (and mine too):
Don’t just treat what’s visible—
have the courage to dig deeper.
Stop obsessing over what’s showing…
and start getting honest about what’s growing underneath.

Because that’s where the real work…
and the real freedom… begins.

🌿 It happens at the root.
