St.Joseph's Academy opened on September 8, 1900, with Sisters of Divine Providence of San Antonio serving as teachers. Joseph's changed over into the hands of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Wichita, Kansas. In 1953, a new school, consisting of five classrooms was built at the cost of $40,000. This school closed in 1968 and by 1969 the old school building was renovated into what is currently the parish hall.
