đ Education Isnât Teacher-Centered or Learner-Centered. Itâs Relationship-Centered. â¤ď¸
We hear a lot about whether education should be teacher-centered or learner-centered.
But I think weâre missing something.
The most powerful education is relationship-centered.
Because before a child will take a risk, they need to feel safe.
Before theyâll admit, âI donât understand,â they need to trust the person sitting across from them.
Before theyâll try that hard problem one more time, sound out that difficult word again, or keep going after getting something wrong, they need to know that their value in that learning space has absolutely nothing to do with their performance.
Thatâs where the magic happens.
A great educator doesnât simply stand in front of a student and deliver information. And great education isnât just about letting the learner lead the way.
Itâs about the connection between the two.
Itâs knowing when to push and when to encourage.
When to explain something differently.
When to laugh.
When to say, âTry it again. I know you can do this.â
And when to remind a child that getting something wrong is just part of getting better.
At Sams Tutoring Online, relationships come first.
Our tutors know their students. We learn their personalities, their strengths, their frustrations, their interests, their learning differences, and the things that make them light up. We build trust firstâand then we build skills.
Because children learn best from people they trust.
And sometimes the most important thing we teach a child isnât math or reading at all.
Sometimes itâs simply:
âI believe in you. Youâve got this.â â¤ď¸
Thatâs relationship-centered education.
Thatâs Sams Tutoring Online.
