October is a month to recognize, learn about, and celebrate the disability community. These and other observances throughout the month recognize the experiences, contributions, and achievements of people with disabilities and the communities that support them.

This month and throughout the year, take time to learn, listen, recognize, and celebrate.

Fun teacher headshots are temporarily interrupted for the following IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:

October is more than a month—it’s a reminder to CELEBRATE EVERY LEARNER!

From AAC awareness to Down syndrome, ADHD, dyslexia, blindness, disability employment, and disability history, AWARENESS matters, but ACTION matters even more!

Teach inclusion.
Amplify student voices.
Celebrate progress.
Remove barriers.
Believe in possibilities.
And never underestimate the impact of one teacher who refuses to give up on a child.

Student Services….your work matters more than you know!! You aren't just teaching skills—you’re helping students discover their voice, confidence, independence, and place in this world.

Tag a SPED teacher below who makes a difference every single day!

HUGE shoutout to our amazing Chapter Treasurer and official photographer, Sadie Carver!

Every year, she captures the priceless memories from our CEC Award Program, but her contributions go far beyond the camera. She works behind the scenes, going above and beyond to help ensure our chapter continues to grow and remain strong. Thanks to her, this year we also have some fun teacher headshots to share from our last meeting!

Pictures posting next! Stay tuned!
