🎶 Band Night is coming! 🎶

Join us Tuesday, October 6 at 7 p.m. at Freedom Field for one of our favorite nights celebrating music education across the Houston County School District! Every middle school football band and high school marching band in the District will be represented as hundreds of student musicians come together for an evening of music, school spirit and celebration.

The evening will begin with a mass band performance of the “Star-Spangled Banner,” featuring all of our middle and high school band students. Our middle school musicians will then perform together before each high school marching band takes the field to showcase its 2026 halftime and competition show.

Admission is FREE! Come cheer on these talented young musicians and celebrate the hard work, dedication, and passion they bring to the field all season long.

🏝️ Week Four is here! 🎒

We’re back with another round of our weekly student question series—this time, we’re hanging out at Mossy Creek Middle! 💚

From practical picks to some totally unexpected choices, our students had plenty of creative answers! 👀😂

Watch to see what they’d bring! ⬇️

Earlier this month, we held the kickoff for Cohort 5 of the Houston County Teacher Leadership Academy. Dr. Jasmine Kullar, our guest presenter, shared amazing learning on the positive impact of teacher leadership . The Academy is designed for teachers who want to support, cultivate, and lead the work of their school's Professional Learning Community. Our District is proud to support professional learning for all staff, and we look forward to a great year of learning with our teachers.

🔧🚌 It’s National Technician Appreciation Week, and our Bus Shop Crew deserves a BIG shoutout! 🚌🔧

These guys do whatever it takes to keep the wheels on the bus turning! From knocking out 20-day inspections and handling road calls, to tackling major repairs and even jumping behind the wheel to drive a route when needed, our technicians do a little bit of EVERYTHING!

A lot of their work happens behind the scenes, but their impact is seen every single day when our buses safely roll out of the lot.
To our Bus Shop Crew: THANK YOU for turning wrenches, answering the call, stepping up wherever needed, and keeping our district moving! 🔧💪

We’re also incredibly thankful for our partnership with Yancey Bus Sales and Service and the continued support they provide to our team. A special thank you to Yancey for providing lunch for our crew as we celebrate National Technicians Week! Good food is always a great way to show appreciation for a hardworking team!
