Perry Service Learning

We are excited that Perry Mighty Mite Youth Wrestling has created this opportunity for PSL volunteers to use their gifts and talents to give back to a sport that has shaped them. Thanks to Coach Rusnak and Coach Mann for your willingness to mentor our students!

Give Back. Lead. Inspire. 🤼‍♂️✨

This year, we are thrilled to welcome four of our very own wrestling seniors, Abby, Maddy, Miles and Keagan, back to the Mighty Mites! As part of their Perry Service Learning (PSL) class, they are volunteering with our youth program all season.
It’s an incredible opportunity for them to give back to the wrestling community that helped shape them, and our littles are ALREADY looking forward to having these mentors in the wrestling room at practices and competitions! Get ready for a season of inspiration and mentorship. Wrestling with a purpose!

Registrations for the upcoming season are NOW OPEN! Don’t miss your chance to be part of something special.

We got an early start on National Book Month, which kicks off on October 1st!

Thank you to our PSL & PHS volunteers for donating 110+ books to Greater Cleveland’s Kids’ Book Bank! And a special shoutout to Giada for leading the effort and bringing this initiative to life.

More photos and a reflection to come from our social media committee…

But we couldn’t start the weekend without thanking this awesome group of PSL and PHS students who not only attended the Magnified Giving Youth Conference on Leadership and Service (on a day off of school), but also pitched in to host pop up service projects, facilitate breakfast and lunch, greet schools and non-profit organizations, and so much more.

Inspired and excited by so many good things that happened today!

Grateful to this awesome group of students for their work at tonight’s PSL Student Advisory Board Meeting!

In addition to their feedback on Interview Day and the Fall Festival, this team put in the work to get us ready for next week’s Magnified Giving Service and Leadership Conference, and set the date for our first “Cans for a Cause” aluminum can collection.

All students who are interested in leadership and service opportunities are welcome to join us for our next meeting in the PSL Classroom on Tuesday 9/29 at 7pm.

Super grateful to United Way of Lake County for welcoming PSL volunteers!

We are thrilled to welcome Bronson from Perry Service Learning to our team for the school year as he looks forward to spending his time with us learning about the nonprofit world and our role in helping Lake County residents in need!

What a crew of students from PSL and PHS!

They ran the Kids’ Zone, painted enough faces to qualify as professional artists, worked the parking lot, helped keep the barrel train operation on track, pitched in with the hayride, and generally said “sure, we can help with that” about 4,256 times.

So grateful for these students who remind us that community is built in all the little ways we show up for one another.

Come join PSL at the Fall Festival today! Our students are ready to welcome you to the kids’ zone, barrel train ride, and more!

Block 4 PSL students wrapped up our 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance by collaborating with 4th grade students from Perry Elementary School. Working together, they harvested more than 300lbs of potatoes, sweet potatoes, peppers, and more from the Giving Garden, and helped provide fresh produce for the Perry Center of Lake County.

Growing, harvesting, sharing… simple acts that can make a real difference in our community.

Thank you again to Youth Service America and AmeriCorps for supporting opportunities like this!

🇺🇸 Honoring 9/11 through service, remembrance, and community 🇺🇸

Block 3 PSL students joined the American Legion at Perry Cemetery to help care for our local veterans’ resting place and pay tribute to those who have served.

Thank you to the American Legion, Youth Service America and AmeriCorps for supporting our students’ service!

Honoring 9/11 by serving our community in small but impactful ways…

Block 2 Perry Service Learning students spent time at Lake Erie Bluffs today, helping clean up and care for a place we’re lucky to have right in our community.

Small acts of service add up - in this case, to 7 bags of trash - and that’s what today is all about.

Thank you to Youth Service America and AmeriCorps for helping make these service opportunities possible!
