Our 8th Grade STEM students wrapped up their Legacy Project today—and what a project it was! After 8 weeks of planning, budgeting, and problem-solving, these students brought their vision to life by designing and building a Gaga Ball Pit for future PMS students to enjoy.

They worked hard this morning to assemble the pit and move 6 yards of mulch to complete the space. Their teamwork, determination, and pride in leaving a mark on our campus truly shined.

This year the 8th grade STEM class took first and second place in the annual Willoughby Pumpkin Chunkin' contest. Both teams represented Perry so well. To honor their hard work the students in the Legal Eagles and the NonchaLaunchers will each receive a personalized wooden trophy commemorating their achievement. So proud of these young men!!!

Hear ye, hear ye! On this fine day, the young scholars of the 8th grade in STEM were joined by the noble students and wise teachers of Team PPF (Perry Pietra-Freeman). Together, they did gather to witness and learn the wondrous art of the trebuchet, that most powerful engine of war! Behold, as these mighty machines did hurl their burdens far and wide, striking awe and amazement into the hearts of all who were present. The learning of the day was bountiful, and the knowledge shared shall echo through the ages. Huzzah!

Hear ye, hear ye! Let it be known throughout the land that two valiant 8th-grade trebuchet teams have earned their place in the grand tournament of Pumpkin Chunkin' in the village of Willoughby this weekend! With skill and might, their fearsome machines have bested many, and now they march forth to glory!

May fortune favor their throws, and may the pumpkins soar through the skies like fiery dragons! Let us all gather to cheer for these noble engineers as they take on this most honorable quest!

After weeks of hard work the 6th grade playgrounds are finished and were presented to the judges. I cannot thank the following staff members enough for giving up their plan times today to come see the students present. Mrs. Cuevas, Mrs. Dasinger, Ms. Seifrick and Mrs. Morgan we hope you enjoyed their ideas for adding an inclusive playground to the Perry Middle School - Lake County Ohio campus Part 1.

Last week students were asked to use TinkerCAD to design an inclusive playground that we will soon pitch to our Principals in hopes that someday they will be built in open space in our middle courtyard.

We discussed how the ninja course was a great place to play on but we also should make this into a playground that all students can access. Students scoured the internet and researched places like Preston's Hope to find out what else we could include to have a truly Accessible Playground. Here are the photos of their projects so far (my apologies for the poor quality of the images, taking a picture of a screen just never works out the way I hoped)

Hear ye! Hear ye! The season of the mighty trebuchet is upon us! Lo, the 8th-grade scholars of the realm do prepare to design and forge with their own hands the fearsome trebuchet, that they might join the grand tournament of Pumpkin Chunkin' in the township of Willoughby, come the month of October.

Behold! Already doth great progress grace our siege works, as the young minds labor with zeal upon these engines of war. Verily, eight bands of craftsmen toil, each shaping their own cunning design of these ancient machines. In the weeks to come, mayhap the sight of soaring fruit shall fill thy minds with wonder and bring mirth to thy Facebooks! (sorry I was having too much fun with chatgpt today)
