the flower and fruit of the Barbados cherry tree

the Barbados cherry is a small subtropical tree which grows sweet and tart fruits that are packed with vitamin c. While it’s considered hardy in zone 9, it doesn’t handle hard frosts well, so if you decide to add one to your landscape you’ll want to either find a somewhat protected place or be ready to keep it small enough to cover on the coldest days

Lemons, kumquats, and tangelos! We have these and lots of other of citrus to choose from here at Turkey Roost. We have some varieties that are very cold hardy in this area (like satsuma and kumquat), as well as a wide variety that are considered hardy in zone 9 but need a little protection in the worst cold. If you have a little more time and energy, we even carry some true tropicals like key lime, which grow great in pots and just have to be brought in or put in a greenhouse during a freeze.
