📚✨️ Investing in Our Team = Investing in Our Children!✨️📚

PCDC Director Kim Bonjour-Eiteman and Associate Director Sharisse Hernandez recently attended the the IAEYC Fall Institute, a valuable opportunity to learn, grow, and connect with other early childhood professionals from across Iowa.🍎🌱

So, why is attending an event like this important? Because great early childhood programs never stop learning!

The IAEYC Fall Institute provides opportunities to:
🌟Learn about the lastest research, ideas, and best practices in early childhood education
🌟Gain new tools and strategies to bring back and share with our teaching team
🌟Stay current on important changes and initiatives in the early childhood field
🌟Connect and collaborate with other educators and leaders
🌟Reflect on what we're doing well and identify ways we can continue to improve

The purpose isn't simply to attend a conference--it's to bring that learning back to PCDC and use it to make our classrooms, teaching practices, and program even stronger.

At PCDC, we believe that when our teachers and leaders continue to grow, our children benefit the most❤️

🍂🍁Fall is in the air at PCDC!🍁🍂

Our little helpers have been busy getting our grounds ready for the beautiful fall season! We've been cleaning up leaves, debris, and trash while learning that taking care of our outdoor space is something we can all do together! 🍁❤️

Of course, no fall day is complete without a nature walk! 🍂 The children collected treasures along the way-- leaves, acorns, sticks, twigs, and other interesting pieces of nature.

And the best part? Our nature finds don't just stay outside! 🔍🌰 They're coming back inside to become hands-on learning materials in our science centers and sensory tables, giving children opportunities to explore, observe, touch, sort, compare, and discover.

At PCDC, we love turning the world around us into our classroom!

We had a special visit from one of our favorite librarians, Ms. Kayla, at PCDC!❤️

She read us a fun spooky story and then let the children get creative decorating canvases that will be proudly displayed during Perry's Art on the Prairie! 🖌🎨

🚒🔥 Fire Prevention Week at PCDC! 🔥🚒

We had a fun and important week learning all about Fire Safety and Fire Prevention! ❤️

Our children practiced our Fire drills and talked about what to do if there is ever a fire--how to stay calm, listen to their teachers, and safely get outside. We also learned about Fire Prevention and why it's so important to be safe around Fire and other potential dangers.

A special highlight was getting to meet some of Perry's amazing firefighters!👨‍🚒👨‍🚒 The children loved learning from them, asking questions, and getting an up-close look at the fire truck! 🚒

A HUGE THANK YOU to our Perry Firefighters for taking the time to visit PCDC, teach our children, and help make fire safety fun and memorable! ❤️
