Alot of our role players our VVUSD students. Since this is the most realistic 15-30 minutes of an active shooter as we can make it, students will get first-hand knowledge and experience on how law enforcement responds to an active shooter and prepare themselves mentally and emotionally.
To further enhance our active shooter training, the Val Verde District Police Department also has training for public relations teams, and this year we have over 40 people from different cities attending. We train to be prepared and get the correct information to the right people at the right time.
In order to make our active shooter training as realistic as possible, we reached out to our community and got over 200 volunteers to donate their time to help our law enforcement be as prepared as possible.
Active shooter training is now live! Our department hosts this large scale active shooter training every year. And every year we strive to make it bigger and bigger!
Attention! The Val Verde District Police Department will conduct our active shooter training at Rancho Verde High School. Do not be alarmed if you see police vehicles. Fire trucks or news vans from numerous agencies. Please avoid the area.
