ATHER’S DAY WEEKEND
HONORING USA HEROES AND SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA RAILWAY MUSEUM MEMORIALIZE THE 20TH ANNIVERSARY OF SEPTEMBER 11TH BY HOSTING THE 9/11 NEVER FORGET MOBILE EXHIBIT.
In 2013, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation launched its 9/11 NEVER FORGET Mobile Exhibit; a tribute to all those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, including the 343 members of the Fire Department of New York City (FDNY) who made the ultimate sacrifice. The high-tech, 83-foot tractor-trailer, which transforms into a 1,100 square foot exhibit, is a tool to further educate people across the country about the events of that tragic day.
Welcomed around the nation, from the Black Hills of South Dakota to the Tennessee State Fairgrounds, the memorial provides interactive education; including artifacts such as steel beams from the towers, documentary videos, and recordings of first responder radio transmissions. Interactive guided tours are carried out by FDNY firefighters who provide firsthand accounts of the day and its aftermath. The 9/11 NEVER FORGET Mobile Exhibit, which has traveled to nearly 50 states and Canada, has welcomed in over 500,000 people to date.
Honoring USA Heroes is dedicated to making sure USA’s fallen heroes are never forgotten. This event highlights their efforts to provide a special memorial gift to the families of every first responder lost on September 11th. These memorials will be presented to the families at the 20th Anniversary events in New York and Washington D.C. later this year.
Honoring USA Hero’s will start the weekend by hosting a VIP, invitation only, event on June 18th, 2021 from 4pm to 7:30pm. The evening is dedicated to first responders and veterans in our area who will have the first opportunity to tour the 9/11 NEVER FORGET Mobile Exhibit; enjoy appetizers and beverages from local restaurants, wineries and breweries; be welcomed by local dignitaries, and entertained by the Cadenza String Orchestra. https://www.honoringusaheroes.org/
Saturday and Sunday, June 19th and 20th, the museum will be open to the public to tour the 9/11 NEVER FORGET Mobile Exhibit as well as enjoy train and trolley rides, local cuisine, and everything the Southern California Railway Museum has to offer. Tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for children. Children 5 and under are free as well as First Responders, Active Military, and Retired Military personnel. A portion of every ticket will go to support Tunnel for Towers and Honoring USA Heroes.

Val Verde Unified School District Police Department does it again! Huge thank you to the Val Verde Police Department for donating #alittle hand sanitizer to HPD. Although Val Verde School District PD is one of the smaller departments within the county, they are making a huge impact within the surrounding communities. #germs #99.9 #SafetyFirst
This is amazing for the kids!
Val Verde Unified School District and Val Verde Unified School District Police Department will always have a special place in our hearts. Every year, VVUSD PD hosts a No Shave November charity to help buy toys for children in the community as well as Loma Linda Children’s hospital. We knew COVID would really affect their fundraising efforts this year and reached out to help however we could by matching entries, dollar for dollar, for their No Shave November Contest.

We are proud to announce that BLT’s Restaurant was able to match and donate $600 to VUSD PD fundraising efforts. We know buying toys doesn’t solve life’s problems, but it sure can make a difference for a family and child in need. If we can help just one family and help bring some joy to their holiday season, then that’s what we’re all about.

✌🏼♥️🥓
Officers from the Val Verde Unified School District Police Department donated 1000 N95 masks to the Moreno Valley Sheriffs's Station today! For an activity, our DSOs had to think fast and create a "gurney" out of a roll of duct tape. Being able to think quickly and make do with the materials tou have is essential for an emergency that can occur.

Day 2 of DSO training! To prepare for the first day of school, we offer training with updates and reminders of standard operating procedures.

It took over four months to prepare and organize this large-scale active shooter training. Being a small department, our staff worked hard to ensure a safe, effective, and memorable training.

Various news outlets have also been attending through the day and interviewing Val Verde District Police Department Chief of Police Mark Clark. Look for us on the news! @telemundo @ktla5news @pressenterprise @nbcla

People will be stopping by through out the day to check out how successful and intense our training.

07/21/2022

Lunchtime! Throughout the day, we will have about 400 people either volunteering, training, or supporting. That's a lot of food!

07/21/2022

Alot of our role players our VVUSD students. Since this is the most realistic 15-30 minutes of an active shooter as we can make it, students will get first-hand knowledge and experience on how law enforcement responds to an active shooter and prepare themselves mentally and emotionally.

07/21/2022

To further enhance our active shooter training, the Val Verde District Police Department also has training for public relations teams, and this year we have over 40 people from different cities attending. We train to be prepared and get the correct information to the right people at the right time.

07/21/2022

In order to make our active shooter training as realistic as possible, we reached out to our community and got over 200 volunteers to donate their time to help our law enforcement be as prepared as possible.

07/21/2022

Active shooter training is now live! Our department hosts this large scale active shooter training every year. And every year we strive to make it bigger and bigger!

07/21/2022

Attention! The Val Verde District Police Department will conduct our active shooter training at Rancho Verde High School. Do not be alarmed if you see police vehicles. Fire trucks or news vans from numerous agencies. Please avoid the area.
