A few nerves quickly gave way to lots of enthusiasm as Orange Inclusive Preschool students marked the first official day of the new school year today! Students met their teachers, learned where to put their backpacks and belongings, engaged in academic stations, and even had a chance for some playground time. We proudly welcome our youngest students to Orange and OIP and wish them a fantastic school year!

Our awesome Lions football team under the leadership of Head Coach Rob Senor, our Cheerleaders under the direction of Head Coach Stacy Dorsey, and the Marching Lion Band under the direction of Mr. Brandon DuVall, Mr. Jake Robinson, and Lionettes Adviser Mrs. Robin Bonner, and a wonderful capacity crowd filled the stadium on August 21st with palpable energy and excitement. Next week, the Lions take on the Tigers at Chagrin Falls but return home on September 4th. And don't forget to mark your calendars now for Homecoming/Hall of Fame Inductions/5K Run weekend September 25-27! OHS Athletics

The final score was 26-6, but the "win" at the first football game of the season Friday night was even larger than that! The Orange Boosters' tailgate, complete with bounce houses, a dunk tank, face painting and representation from the Orange Patronaires, Orange High School PTA, Orange Schools Foundation, Orange Elementary & Middle School PTA, and Orange Alumni Association, a repeat tradition of kindergartners gathering to run through the tunnel ahead of the team, outstanding performances by the OHS Cheerleaders and the OHS Marching Lion Band & Lionettes, a visit from the lion mascot, and perfect weather all helped the"Big O" add the big "W" for the night! Thanks to all who made the opening game against John Hay so memorable! This album includes highlights of the night leading up to game time.

Classes have not yet begun for MHS kindergartners, but they are already hard at work signing their "Kindy Commitment Letters" as Leo the Lion watches over them! The future Class of 2039 (!) spent the last two days meeting with their teachers 1:1 and undergoing various assessments to start the year off right. Interviews continue on Monday, and following two days of Kindy Phase-In, all kindergartners will report to school for their first official first day on August 27th.

==>We invite all kindergartners (and everyone else!) to get in the spirit of Orange by joining us at the first home game TONIGHT, 8/21 and leading the lions onto the field prior to kickoff! Meet in the west endzone of the stadium at 6:30pm to join us (no more than two adults per student on the field, please!). All OCSD students receive free game admission tonight! Moreland Hills Elementary School students in grades 1-5 also got in on the fun as they eagerly arrived for their first day of the 2026-27 school year on Thursday. Greeted by bubbles, hugs, and high-fives, students were welcomed back with open arms...and, of course, music and dancing with Mr. Hardaway and Mrs. Lauro, and the dulcet tones of the megaphone-wielding Mr. Brooks (see video in comments!). Kindergartners and OIP students officially begin classes next week. Huge gratitude to all of our officers from Moreland Hills Police Department and Pepper Pike Police Department, as well as those from our surrounding communities, for their presence on campus and working diligently to keep all our students safe on their first day of school and throughout the year! Welcome back, everyone!

Shortly after OHS students started their day, Brady Middle School students arrived on campus to begin their school year! Instruments and backpacks in tow, the 6th, 7th, and 8th graders donned their class t-shirts and tried out their new lockers and combinations. Staff members greeted the students at the bus loop and in the front of the school, eager to welcome them back to campus. Later this year, 8th grade WEB Leaders will work with the 6th graders as part of the annual mentoring program. Welcome back, BMS students!!!

The Lion's Den was roaring with excitement as students across campus began the 2026-27 school year! First up...the early birds! Shortly after the break of dawn, Orange High School students in grades 9-12 began to arrive on campus. Our school buses dropped the students off right in front of the school with our awesome drivers ensuring students' safety and well-being. Staff members greeted the students and helped them find their way to their first period classes. It was a great beginning to the school year!
