NEW INSTRUCTOR SPOTLIGHT
Meet Liam Mealey!

Liam Mealey is a Cleveland native and wildlife illustrator holding a degree in illustration from The Cleveland Institute of Art, with an emphasis on life science illustration and graphic design. Inspired by the intricate beauty of animals and nature, his work aims to deepen the connection between art and the natural world, a theme featured in his current solo exhibition, Yearning for a Peaceful Existence, as our spring 2026 Emerging Artist in Residence.

He will lead Foundations of Pastels on Tuesday mornings from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, running Fall I (September 8 – October 13) and Fall II (October 27 – December 1)!

Meet Shammah McVay!

Shammah McVay is a professional illustration and animation artist with a love for story-driven works and anime. She studied and trained at the Columbus College of Art & Design and is a Cleveland native, her career includes creating animation and assets for video games as well as work on projects associated with companies such as Disney, Marvel, and CBS Studios.

She will lead Cartooning + Character Design on Saturdays starting September 19, offered for Grades 3–5 in the morning (10:30 am – 12:00 pm) and Grades 6–9 in the afternoon (1:00 pm – 2:30 pm)!

Meet Sarah E. Philip!

Sarah Philip is a life-long artist and an art educator with over 25 years of experience. With degrees from Skidmore College and Kent State University, her work focuses on the exploration of color, texture, and form in ceramics and fiber.

She’ll will lead a 2 hour Ceramic Beginners - Experienced class on Tuesday mornings starting September 15 and new open studio hours now Tuesdays, 12:30 - 2:30!

TOMORROW: Orange Community Art Fest 2026 is almost here!!!

The forecast is looking fantastic with clear skies. We are bringing together nearly 40 local artists, makers, and interactive activity stations across our grounds. View the complete event map and plan your visit ahead of time.

- Interactive Art: Join the community mural painting, craft your own DIY tote bag, or participate in make-and-take stations.

-Live Demonstrations: Watch live technique showcases in ceramics, abstract painting, and illustration.
