Please help us welcome our new 3rd grade Teacher! We are so thrilled to have her!
My name is Brittany Duwell, and I am so excited to be joining the school community as a third-grade teacher! Over the past two years, I have had the privilege of working in the district as a substitute teacher. Before beginning my teaching journey, I spent time at home raising my three children, Colton, Jackson, and Callie.
My family and I moved to the area two and a half years ago after my husband, Andy, retired from the United States Marine Corps. We now call a small farm in Stockholm home, where life is always busy and full of adventure! We have cows, sheep, pigs, geese, ducks, chickens, cats, and dogs, all of which make our farm a lively and joyful place to call home.
When I’m not in the classroom, you can usually find me outside working in the garden, caring for our animals, or enjoying a good book. Some of my favorite children’s book series are The Chronicles of Narnia, My Side of the Mountain, and Little House on the Prairie. I also enjoy baking and working on puzzles.
I love teaching because of the relationships I get to build with students and the opportunity to watch them learn, grow, and discover their own unique strengths. I am looking forward to an amazing year filled with curiosity, kindness, creativity, and lots of learning. After moving a lot throughout my husband’s career, I am excited to continue putting down roots in this community and become part of your children’s educational journey.
